I was going to be getting all my parts from them, but doesn't the shipping take a while?
My order from meijiu was at my door in 5 days. They only use express shipping, comes dhl often in the US. Thats part of why its so expensive.
Ive been plenty happy with my meijiu boards.

Imo 480 watts is not enough for a 4x4. If you do go HLG I would order straight from them though.
480 watts of cobs or Samsung strips is fine for a 4x4, unless you have your environment and feeding down you might even have to cut it down some.

I like it, but it's pretty pricey.
I bought three of the gravitas and one of the seventeens. I might cancel my order on the gravitas an go pick up three more of the seventeens. They’re pretty nice lights and really well built.

It's been a few years since I was looking at LED lights. I'm ready to make the move, but there's too much info out there, and too many to choose from.

I'm looking for a 1000w hps equivalent to cover a 5x5 footprint.

What average priced light would you recommend?

What high-end light would you recommend?

I know it's a broad topic, but I'm looking for a place to start looking based on experience

Thanks
Strip lights are hugely popular these days, superb light spread and top shelf efficacy!
Bridgelux EB Gen-2 are cheap now, many builds in the lighting section. $400 for strips and driver, 750w in a 5x5.
Stick'm to aluminum angle or sheet with double stick thermal tape. They can even be run naked, no heat sink required. A simple wood frame could even be used. They are also great for lighting garages and workshops.

Top of the list in a "bridgelux" search, https://www.rollitup.org/t/new-build-with-bridgelux-strips-and-grow-room.1001506/
A build with Samsung strips, LM301B diodes.

Should I cancel the order?
It's your call. The price is good, but if you want genuine HLG stuff, that isn't it. That board runs different voltage and uses different red leds compared to the authentic HLG product.
Knock off but the exact same diodes and construction. If your good with no warranty then keep on trucking
No, the red diodes are Epistar, whereas HLG uses Osram.
