Looking for a good T5 for 4x4 grow tent.

My 8 bulb handles a 2 x 4 area. Changing bulbs can be an issue, especially when flipping to flower bulbs. I would get 4 @ 4 bulb.

See my thread for details

PetFlora got it right ,a 4 lamp HO t5 is what you need. If you really want some serious lighting though using t5's you should cheak out the VHO fixtures. The lumens thrown are outstanding, and I can attest to the fact that they are fucking awesome. Cost more than a HO t5, but you are investing in the best t5 out there. It's $177 on Amazon with 6500k lamps included. Pricey but great. Peace

Hey Mr. Grow, I checked out those lights and you can toss the 2' fixture away. The other two were ok, but I wouldnt' buy used and I don't like ebay because if there is a problem they can be a pain. I did some research for you and found a Hydrofarm (very good brand) 4 - 4' lamp HO t5 commercial grade fixture with a 5 year warrenty for $125 with 6500k lamps on Amazon. If there is any problem with the light they take care of it quickly and for peace of mind that is the fixture I would choose. The 8 lamp is $195 and is heavy. It would make your tent sick though. The only issue with the 4 bulb fixture is that it has a narrow spread of light, so two rows of say 8 plants under it will be cool, but any wider than that and your lumens drop off. I hope I helped, and Happy 420. Peace

What are the chances of using your warranty on these t5 lights though?

You will want more than 4 bulbs total but having 4 bulb fixtures is easy to deal with when changing bulbs ect. The Bad Boy T5 light fixtures are really nice.
