Is it true that Governor Christie "praising" Obama for coming to New Jersey is giving Obama a boost in the polls?
Or is the media just crossing their fingers?

I'm going to go with media hype on this one.

I am not sure there is much upside for Obama looking presidential as that is what he is expected to do.

There might have been significant downside if he didnt stop campaigning for at least a few days.

I think overall it will likely be a wash or a slight deficit for Obama in the states most severely hit but wont likely change the electoral college map.

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Is_Sacramento_in_northern_or_southern_California

Well it seems to be a fact according to any credible person or site..infact you're the only person with that opinion..really?...it's THAT hard just to say "oops...my bad"...for real..its NOT a big deal. It shows maturity. Don't be a Mysticclown
wiki answers? really?

and the question asks is it southern or northern. if you asked me that question, i would have said northern.

the way i see it though is southern, central, and northern california. and by the numbers, sacramento is on the northern end of central cali.

it's a matter of opinion dude.

A matter of your opinion versus the facts. Something you are consistent on flounder....

FACT: if you divide cali into thirds, sacramento is in the central third.

FACT: if you divide cali into halves, sacramento is in the northern half.

how you choose to look at that is personal preference or opinion.

what is not opinion is the existence of the iran-syria border, or iran's access to the sea.

and you are too big of a douchebag to simply admit that.

But what your assertion contains as a premise is that the thirds/halves must be of comparable area. I challenge this. The claim that Northern Ca is "all beyond the Tehachapis" looking north has the weight and authority of Cultural Geography behind it. cn

my handling of the california question is based on practicality: i drive that mammoth beast several times every year. dividing it into thirds helps me handle it mentally.

Sort of like deluding yourself that Obama is going to win re-election... Yes, easier to bend reality than try to handle it mentally... Flounder...

I get that. But that means your answer is individual and subjective. I might be making a mistake here, but the impression I got was that you were saying "it is thus" without qualification.

I mean, we could ask how "eastern Oregon" is defined. If we accept the cascades as the natural and intuitive dividing line between the drippy and the dusty parts of the state, "Eastern" becomes over two-thirds by area. cn

...am I wrong?

What matters here is that when you ask the people in Sacramento where they live, the answer will be "northern California". As do I

if i were a betting man, i would have money on obama.

nate @ 538 has him at 78% to win.

intrade has him at 68.5% to win.

thinking that romney is ahead at this point is akin to believing that iran has no access to the sea and a border with syria.

but you keep deluding yourself, kiddo.

i would consider bend to be in the central oregon region, actually.

i get the point that you are trying to make, but as an almost math major, my mind does not work that way. it works in a very linear fashion with sharp, precise delineations.
