Lining Question??????

Has anybody heard of something called "Single Bubble White Radiant Barrier Jacket" made for hot water heaters?

Got a roll lying around and doesn't seem to be cheap. The white radiant barrier sounds promising, but is it going to be as useful for light reflectability or is it just going to get hot as shit?

^^ This Stuff ^^

Looks like the shit, dude. I'm all about using crap I already have lying around. I just bought a couple emergency blankets for mylar, but if I had a roll of that stuff that wouldn't be missed...I'd use it, but just watch out, it says it reflects 95% of radiant heat, so it might cause a smaller cab to overheat, but probably not.

P.S.-Emergency blankets at Walmart in camping section...$2.88

Is the emergency blanket effeciant and better on heat or would I be better off with some flat white paint? I did a trial run with the jacket in the box empty and within a few minutes it was 90F, I have an old xbox fan i'm using for ventilation but its not doing the trick with this stuff!

I think mylar is the most effecient, with flat white paint not too far behind. I'm not sure how they stack up on heat, I'm guessing white would be the best to keep it cool, and it's probably not going to make THAT drastic of a difference in reflective qualities.

Have you tried tyvec paper? It's not really paper, they use it to line under siding and shingles. It's printed on one side, and white on the other. Good reflectivity, but it does let light through, so you'd need a backing board(to not let light out for every one to go "what's that?". But it won't get hot! Just a thought.:peace:
