Ive never grown before and need to understand some more of the basics about lighting >>
I need to know if i need two different lights for veg/floweing.. If so.. What are the lowest watt lights that i can buy for a decent finish?

Also.. I want to know why i cant just get some 500 watt flood lights on the plants and why they have to be MH or HPS

Any info on the above would really help alot.. thx

mh and hps put out a light spectrum that is good for growth. The m/h puts out a blue spectrum which is good for veging plants. The hps is more for the flowering dure to it red/orange spectrum. Now as far as how many watts goes it all depends on the anount of plants that you are growing and the size of the area. More info would def help determin.

I only wonna grow one or two plants to see if i can do it... So, your saying I should first buy a m/h light for vegging.. Then when im getting close to flowering I should buy a hps?

Can't say for sure(you didn't provide measurements), but one 65W CFL might be all you need. I'd stick to just one plant. Look up LST and learn how to tie it down to keep the profile down while maximizing yield. Make sure you get a good thermometer for your box. You're not going to grow shit if it's too hot in there.

to make this simple
you can grow some bud just using floras or compact floras/energy savers if u want to save lekky like i am doing
or fork out £100 or so on metal halide or sodium bulbs which will also send your lekky bill thru the roof
my lekky bill a month £60
my mates lekky bill a month £130 but he`s using MH and Sodium bulbs and sells alot so he can afford it
then when u want to grow faster and better bud upgrade your lights

happy budding

your welcome
if u do decide to grow using floras do what i did and keep your eyes open around skips on industrial sites cos they chuck out loads (( 1 thing to do if u find some as for permission from the business if u can get the lights)) cos its illegal without permission

yes, just get 4-5 of the largest wattage cfl's you can find. Warm color (the reddish ones) for flowering, cool(daylight, bluish) for veg. Best bet would be doing 3 warm and two cool bulbs.
You are going to need a fan and exhaust hole in that cabinet. You do know that right?
