Light leaks

Ive heard people talking about how there should even be one light leakin into your grow room when there sleeping during the flowering stage. I was wondering since my plants are veggin right now- is it going to affect them if i leav the door crack 6 inches when they sleep (due to heat ventilation). Will this cause problem with the plant if i leave the door open?

Just do the best you can to make sure there are no strong lights shining in and you maybe fine. Some strains seem very sensitive to light.

I used to time my lights to turn off late at night and the room they were in was totally sealed from outside light so I could leave the door cracked for temp purposes

Alright thanks everyone for the input- although outside can reach my closet- im more worried about the likes in my room- even when there off i got people runnin in and out to use the bathroom so the room lights turn on once in awhile.

You don't need to worry about light leaking in to the grow room until you start flowering. then, you must have pure darkness. plants can be veg'd with 24 hours of light if you want. Clones are incubated with 24 hours of light by many.

Yah ive heard people doing 24 hours of lighting allthough Its either one or the other....im on an 18/6 lightin schedule and im sure its not good to get and hour of lightin in all in there at random times throught the sleeping time. Id rather just keep it 18/6- but if lights not goin to hurt it then ill just keep doors open.
