I got it prescribed for Vertigo, I was diagnosed with it at 14 and now at 20 it comes back only when I cannot get a good nights sleep and/or have high levels of anxiety. For the most part I don't even like weed, but it is the only thing that helps. Often I have severe stomach pains which weed also helps, its kinda funny all of my friends smoke but I'm the only one that uses it medically.

Omfg...I always wondered why im up at 5 am with tummy pains every day...maybe i should see a doc!

prot
Well that can happen depending on your eating habits as well. Eat a bunch of BS before sleeping, and your body wont break it down as well as when its active, and not in "standby" if you will. Try not to eat for at least 2 hours before going to bed. If pain consists, then yeah I would probably see a doctor.

For me? My problem is my pumps are so overactive, my stomache will actually power-process my foot, and basically it passes it as soon as possible. I usually do not retain vitamins from food, and it almost always passes in 2 hours or so. So yeah, I can eat an entire dinner, and it will be out of my system before bed.

one term you should learn there my friend, is malpractice, by way of incompetence.

I just lost someone very close to me, last week, from a Dr's error. He 'forgot' to tell a nurse that he had prescribed an injection for the patient, to be administered immediately, before the patient was released. Well, he never got the shot, and passed away from complications directly related to his failing to recieve required medication. We have contacted a lawyer, I would suggest the same for you. I cant imagine what it must be like to be unable to speak, thank god for the internet and keyboards....

but on the subject of medical mj-
I need a strain that can releive severe pain associated with severe migraines and CPS (central pain syndrome)
this is not a mmj state, so going down to the local dispensary and simply asking is really not an option for me. So i'll have to order the beans... if you know what i mean.
Myself, im bi polar and suffer from migraines. fortunately, ive been able to keep things under control during my adult life with various holistic methods, including mj. however, the mj doesnt do much for my migraines, sometimes it even aggravates them. in my area, abusing prescriptions is the way of life.... someone my age (under 40 but over 20) is pretty much laughed at when going to a dr for any pain related illness, they have a predetermined assumption that the patient is just trying to 'score some new meds', the only way your going to get any relevant treatment is to spend $1000 on a dozen office visits before a dr takes you seriously. I dont have the time, or money to play games like that. So after years of recreational use, ive actually started using mmj for medical reasons.

now the CPS pain... thats not me. Thats a patient. Poor guy is a vietnam era vet, he has a peice of shrapnel imbedded in his brain (sadly, the shrapnel is/was from a friendly fire incident) and all the VA is willing to do is just write script after script of pain meds. The poor guy has been on the shit so long it just do anything for him besides give him withdrawel when he stops taking it. Well, I gave him some of the stuff I had been growing for my uncle to help with his withdrawel, and he passed it on too a friend that has a similair problem, both have had good results relieving the withdrawel symptoms with the MMJ, and now were talking about trying to get something that may help with the pain, even if its just the distraction of being high... both of these guys are true blood heroes, one holds a silver star and the other a dfc, and I think its the least i can do to help them get by in there older years...

so any suggestions?

sorry for the long as fuck post too, just had to touch several related subjects :eyesmoke:

I've smoked for 25 years for my spinalcord damage. They said I would never walk past the age of 30 and I'm now 50. I dropped all the crazy ass pills they wanted me to take and just smoked. Hell back then I didn't even know it helped till I noticed the burn and numbness went away when I smoked. So, I just been smoking these past 20 some years and I'm STILL walkin :hump:. Now they just call it MEDICAL MARIHUANA. Hell,,,, DUH !!!!!!!!!!!!!

high cbd is good for pain. But the sativa will help you stay active. It depends on how heavy they smoke, yu know. What can they take? Maybe a nice mix indica dom plant with high cbd and some high thc to help with the rest.

I suffer from Ulceritive Colitis/Chrons. I find that when I smoke as well it helps my stomach out tremendously. I take 4 pills a day for the affliction and they dont even compare to puffin on some green. I do not live in a medicinal state so I am still a criminal for medicateing myself and growing my own medicine. I have never been a fan of taking pills for anything, not even headaches. I feel that I am forced to ingest man made chemicals instead of a natural organic herb because "they" say Cannabis is "bad" and "Illegal". The man is forcing me to go against my beliefs and values and its a bunch of crap. Sorry about the rant but yeah.....Legalize da herb already!!!

The "man" isnt forcing you go go against your beliefs. You have the legal right in the United States to ingest cannabis, for we all have the right to religion. Unfortunatly, for you to defend yourself in this manner, you must have a good lawyer, and some money :D

OR you could help this country realize prohibition isnt the answer, write your representatives.

Good luck!

I have always used weed off and for 30 years now first as rec then later for getting of the booze then quit the weed as wanted to not go from one crutch to the other. I then ended up thru a round of Chemo Interferon 48 week fun stuff-- I get twitches and muscle pain thinking about it! Anyways--- i was norm 165lbs and they took me to 122 and sent me to a psychiatrist--- he handed me a billion Valium and Klonipin thought? Wow i am a rock-star my own Newport Beach Dr and valium Kloni's and zoloft Can't party without the Exctacy
Then after being wacked out spun out--- My wife at the time says "umm you might want to try some weed so you eat dear"/ As I did not eat or sleep, still do not sleep The treatment robbed me of all Seratonin--- as you may have noticed my AM posts. I have went from a successful business owner to a spaced out patient.
I have since then gotten off all drugs except an occasion Halcion because the Big dogs need that to be put down. I use the weed to help maintain what the zoloft was doing I am now on .25 mg every other day as the Dr wanted to keep me on 100 mg but with the weed I can back off a bit on the Zoloft which is like MDA whereas you are kinda not really focused on much.
I use the Indica for muscle pain in my joints from my Virus. I do not smoke only vape. i love to work out and do Yoga as that is a terrific therapy as well. Not just geting high and maintaing your pain.
Actually pain is Thresholds and once you get to a threshold you can bare with it. So I use yoga and stretch and things like that and it has helped me greatly in the shoulder and neck dept.

Writing/Protesting would help take away the illegal aspect to it pops. You, with your script, could be raided tomorrow. And its legal. Will you? Probably not. But regardless, if it were legalized, we wouldent have to worry about piss tests, or any of that BS.

Period.

oh man I had that for about a week to 10 days what a pain in the ass that was/ Might as well spark up so your brain knows how to handle the dizziness. Dr said my ear will reset, it did but it was scary. wondered how long it was going to go on for. Could nor walk or stand for longer then 2 min.

Hi all- I've been working my way through the various strains, trying to find an appropriate cannabis strain for me. My heart has a tendency to race, so I avoid most Sativas. Here's my experiences so far:

Romulan: Pleasant slight mental high. *Great painkiller*/minor muscle relaxant. Aided sleep. My heart doesn't race at all on this stuff! Apparently, it has a lower THC content than many, and this may account for it's mellowness. Yeah! It also doesnt make me feel 'stoned' or stupid.

Blueberry Kush: Medium pain control. Medium body high, STRONG sleep inducer. Knocked me out....twice.

Peak 19- Too strong! 1/4 of a puff made my heart race for about a half hour, and made me feel like I was going to be ill. I hate this crap!!

Mango+Durban cross: Decent painkiller, euphoric feeling, 'couch-lock'. Slightly 'stupid' high, and munchie inducer. Makes my fingers feel numb occasionally.

Trainwreck: Anti-anxiety. Muddled my thoughts a bit but not too much to be disturbing. Good painkiller. Slight heartrate elevation. Extreme munchee inducer.
The Skunk#1 that was grown on the PainPal system is VERY relaxing for me, it numbs my chronic back pain and is a real easy on the throat smoke. Two reasonable sized bowls and I'm off to "la la land"
Nevles Haze is really good for psychiactric conditions, mood, and anxiety. I love Sensi-Star for it's ability to control muscle pain and nausea. It also has a wonderful aroma and taste to boot.

I am curious if the Blueberry is really helpful for muscle spasms. Or what about restless leg? I have been up for the past three nights with restless leg and nothing is helping.
I had a friend (RIP) who used to swear by Super Silver Haze cookies for his troublesome RLS and arthritic spinal problems. I have a couple of people I caregive that gave the strain a trial. Both of them said that the SSH cookies worked better than Rx medication and that Indica's did nothing for them.

They also are very good for neuropathy and spasms from Multiple Sclerosis.
I eat 2 strong cookies a day - like clockwork - and dropped the Rx meds for spasms. This works well for me and it's the first thing I will give to someone
who has MS or bladder problems that come with MS. Nothing I've used works better.
I have said it before, the Amsterdam Bubble Funk has a way of getting rid of my HEADACHES when the pinched nerve in my neck acts up with those top of the cranium gems of PAIN. Without a doubt, better than any asprin ever taken, and with immediate relief. As a general pain reliever, this strain does little for my FIBROMYALGIA. For that pain, i rely on Bubble Gum, or Blueberry to get me the relief i need, for the most part.
afgani trainwreck -for my mind,muscles,pain
original u.w.-pain-
l.a. hogsbreath-pain,sleep,..frontal lobe action,lol.
i dont eat inless ingesting.trainwreck good for that.
BUBBLE GUM, LIFESAVER, AMSTERDAM BUBBLE FUNK, & Kali Misty definitely help me to cope with my FIBO flare ups, by the way
AK-47- A more 'active' high, pretty decent munchie factor after a few minutes, and a very pleasant mental haze. Pain relief is definitely also a good plus with this one: an 8 for neuropathic pain, and a 9 for muscular pain. Effects are felt instantly, and although it's very potent, it doesn't make my heart race at all.

New York City Diesel- This strain tends to put a bit of 'tightness' in my chest. A 7-8 for pain control, and an odd discernable head buzz. This tends to come on slowly for me. Small munchie factor.

Trainwreck (further thoughts)- This is a really great strain to be active with. I've been using Trainwreck in the morning, followed by small hits of AK-47 throughout the day for pain relief, and it's very effective.
Medicine Man- Excellent for neuropathic pain. I've been told by some that this is another name for White Rhino....although it doesn't seem to have as 'active' a quality as I expected from this strain. More than any other strain, this cannabis creates a fogging mental haze that can be shaken off if necessary, but really helps with perception of pain. I give this a 10 out of 10 for pain control and general anti-anxiety/mood elevation, however, I'd save it for the night- it's not the most motivating thing in the world, although it is possible to become productive if you push yourself enough.
Afgooy. Great for stomach stuff as well. Serious couch lock. This stuff will make your face numb.
M-39- Very happy, decent bodily relaxation, excellent anti-anxiety, and good for cramps.

Silver Haze- AMAZING for pain- it's a very even head/body buzz, but it's an alert, cerebral one. I want to be busy when I'm on this stuff.

RomSpice- This is the strongest body high I've ever felt. It literally makes my whole body feel numb and tingly. I give it a 12 out of 10 for pain. It surpasses Romulan by at least half. AMAZING and wonderful! It not only kills my pain- without massive amounts of opiates, but it also helps withdrawl symptoms- VERY well. It brought my aches down to being barely tolerable with advil (as opposed to me lying on the floor aching, shaking and vomiting).

I highly recommend the club on 9th St. (10th st. is okay too, but the staff isn't nearly as knowledgable) in San Francisco. They know exactly what strains suit which ailments. Apparently, Cindy99 is supposed to be excellent for MS- they make bhang out of the most potent strains they have (RomSpice and Cindy99 for this batch), and many MS patients haven't needed anything more than an occasional advil. AMAZING stuff.

Anti nausea strains: (I have BAD nausea due to a bad liver, kidney disfunction, and mental trauma/PTSD) RomSpice, Silver Haze, Romulan, NY Sour Diesel, M-39, Blue Moonshine, are ALL excellent- their effectivness is in order from greatest to lesser- but all of them work very well.

NY Sour Diesel is excellent for anxiety, as is Bubblegum. SD gives an almost tangible sense of relaxation in the head- it killed a developing migraine before it started.
my personal preference for treating MS, is ANY strong Indica,,, i stay away from any/all pure Sativas,,,

I have severe lumbar radiculopathy/sciatica and have been an MMJ patient for the past 5 years. I've had numerous epidurals over the past ten years and finally had surgery last year, with limited relief. As far as using cannabis for pain, I seem to get the best relief with edibles...the lemon bars and larry's munchies bars at Blue Sky are AWESOME....they actually taste good. I have to remind myself that it's medicine and not a snack. Smoking is great for sleep, a toke and some munch is REALLY good for sleep, but for straight pain, eating it is the most effective for me...comparable to taking a norco, without the liver damage.
