The Dik comment was for the gb123 asshole. Sorry didn't mean to paint everyone with his brush...apologies.

But, God I feel like I'm in a vacuum. You can fight, argue, and defend all you want with a total loss, the fact is MMJ is currently not covered by the insurance industry, legal or not!

If you're growing MMJ it's not just fire to worry about. Anything that brings a claims adjuster to your home for ANY claim and they see you're growing MMAR, you will be denied....regardless of what the claim was form. Then, once they find out about your MMAR grow...epect a letter in the mail with your "denial of claim" and also stating that your coverage has been canceled because of said MMAR grow.

Of course I now have some "forced" piece of mind with Lloyds because my room is empty and no cultivation is taking place. Even if something were to happen in the grow room itself, I am covered as long as there was no MMJ cultivation taking place....which is fukd in of itself.
I don't doubt your insurance company says it will refuse you coverage for your garden, but I question the legality. A properly and professionally installed grow room is no greater risk than many other home renos or addition and they get insured everyday. Unless there is a a rule that disallows growing ANY indoor plant, it is discrimination against mmj patients. The little guy like you or me aren't gonna force insurance companies to change the rules...but government can, so make some noise, call your mp, newspaper and these governing bodies.

Sad but true! :(

At least Lloyds has assured me that if Phelan sides with us, they will immediately start offering LEGAL MMJ homegrows. They already have all of my inspection docs for structural, electrical, fire, municipal by-law, and an OPP report for good measure. I'm already paying the premium as a former MMAR grow ($3800), which is actually the exact same as an active MMAR grow. It's the only "former MMAR grow" homeowners policy I could find, yet they charge me as if I'm actually still growing MMAR. Now that's some bullshit pricing right there...grrrr!

Again, growing MMJ is illegal in Canada as of Mar/2014. Yes some of us are covered under the MMAR injunction, but that does not mean we can force the insurance companies to cover it.

Dude, i've contacted everyone about this issue. I even filed an Ontario human rights complaint, and that was denied because insurance companies can discriminate against you for anything in Ontario (even when disabled like myself).

Checkout section 23 of the Ontario human rights code, it's shocking on what the insurance companies can get away with

There is insurance on the building I use, and I know a few others that are insured in BC. Like I said, make some noise...what choice do you have. If you are covered by the injunction(?) you are legal, your insurer has said they will insure when it;s legal.... Fucking insurance companies are worse than lawyers...crooks

If I could, I would....and I deal with a Broker, not an agent. I encourage anyone here to make a few anonymous phone calls to ANY insurance company in Canada. Tell them you're looking for a homeowners policy and you're covered under the MMAR injunction. Make sure you told him it's professionally constructed and 100% safe. Even offer them to come and inspect the grow room. Maybe after a few of you make a few phone calls you'll understand exactly what I'm trying to tell you.

I understand...I am just not the type to take no for an answer. Unless you're loaded, fighting them in court is out without a class action. Or federal (provincial) consumer protection laws. It is clearly a discriminatory practice and that pisses me off. I know you have probably tried every way possible, but I wouldn't stop.

I had a long hard-fought 5-year battle with insurance on another matter. Pretty much sucked all the fight outta me!

I feel confident that we will prevail in the courts once again, and then hopefully we can all have proper insurance coverage for our MMJ homegrows soon.

I'm sure once recreational MJ is legalized, and if everyone has the right to grow their own, the insurance industry will have to conform…IMO!

You continue to be a wannabe troll in public, even after I PM'd you. If you got a fucking problem with me take it to PM and stop ruining other peoples threads with your nonsensical 2 sentence posts.

Again, you gotta problem with me...show some fucking respect for the other members here and take your BS to PM!
no issue with you.... it's the work you say that has been inspected I don't agree with is all and you're all bent about it.

by the way... Im not disagreeing with you about INS and coverage.
That's the chance people have to take the way things are... you can take that to court with you though in your defense. :)

Its called crim neg.... and will be charged against anyone who would come after a patient by not covering their meds and what they have to do in order to get those meds.
