I was thinking about buying a small one so I can put a plant on my desk, not weed.
Just thought my desk would more personalized if I added a tiny home made aeroponics plant on it.
I figured, hell if my secretary can have a gold fish, I can have a plant.

i reccomend an herb such as mint chocalate plant, smells great and looks cool.but those ufo's r NOT comparable to a 400 watter.

Especially not the one the OP linked to. Looking at it, it contains a lot of unnecessary spectra that are taking the place of more usable spectrum LEDs. I most definitely wouldn't spend $279 on it, that's for sure. Maybe if it were around 125 bucks...

I know from experience that vigorous vegg growth, and vigorous bud growth are not the same.

I don't think LED's work just as well as HID light.
LED's I think will work well for Cloning and the vegging.
But if you want your plants to grow bud at their fullest potential, your gonna need a HID light.
I'm sure you'll get bud with a LED, but nothing in comparison of a HID light.

The bottom line is this,,, if you have the money to buy a UFO then why not just buy a 400 watt hid or a 200 watt flouro? Leds are a waste of momey any if you look through riu enough you will notice that most grows that started with Leds either died out fast or had bad results. Imho it is a waste of your hard earned cash, so unless you have dough like that don't become a victim to the Leds...

wanted to try a ufo out but hearing alot of bad things about them but i found this one http://pendragonstreasuresinc.com/Product/tabid/57/List/0/ProductID/10/Default.aspx guy said it just came out not to long ago and its better than the older ones but idk if i believe him cause he probably just wants my money
I'd get the 2010 Lighthouse Hydro UFO model sold by Gotham Hydro. It has the best test results so far and is about the same price as the one from pendragonstreasuresinc.com.

Beg to differ Thaiboy, and I grow with Litehouse Hydro 90W lights. The 2010 model is a veg light. For flower, the 2009 UV is a better light, (more red).

This is the one thing I've learned about LED's. There is no all purpose LED light, (especially Cammie's overpriced crap). Secondly, you need more than they say you do, or you need supplemenal lighting, usually CFL's. My own cabinet has a 2010 led and 4 CFL's for veg, (usually 3 -5 plants, scrog), and two 2009 UV 90W lights and 4 higher watt CFL's for flower. Plan to spend more if your going to go led.

Good luck.
