LED vs LED

My current thinking leans towards using one channel for base spectrum: white low K high cri, either 2700k 90 cri or 3000k 90cri + a little 660, another channel of wide blue and uv (420, and uva) and another for farred and maybe some 850/940 infra red just for kicks.

I prefer getting the maximum of reds thru white diodes rather than adding 630 and loads of 660.

@hybridway2 you have been waiting awhile to post that somewhere haven't you?

And why can't you post the spectrums?
No, actually just spent mad time i idn hae to share those. Idk why? Stoned!
Unfortunately Amare does not want me to.
All the companies that used to attempt to De-Bunk Amare for using an enhanced spectrum are all attempting it now in one way or another.
Amare puts a lot of time & resources into their R+D. No Proof posted everywhere but this guy has the most experience growing with every spectrum he's ever made & the regulars. He knows Wazzup & how to accomplish efficiency #'s others think impossible using all those monochromatic colored diodes to the mix.
Yeah, other companies will jump on their spectrum before they even get one LUV out the door. Same with the Canna-Spec & Solar-Spec (C).
I posted their basic Solar-Spec HE spectrum above & their original Equetorial spec before lowering the green & adding 660nm to make the Cob Series (Solar-Eclipse) models now Canna-Spec.
So, its not to hard to imagine after i told you all the nm's they use. Victor hates when i do that, but hey you guys need to make educated decisions w/o having to contact Amare & ask.
Although Victor Does answer all questions with full transparency. Just doesn't offer it all up on the site anymore after so many companies copied the cob/mono array or similar along with close to the spectrum.

Damn thanks everyone for your reactions and thoughts. I misspoke when i said that i have av660 bar. It is a 730 bar.

After having a few unsatisfactory runs I am pondering switching to a strip unit(s) but first i am going to tweak a cobb rig i built a few years back. It uses 4x cxb 3590 @ 50w each, 200w total. And 4 bridgelux V29: 1 x 1750k @ 80w, 2 x 4k@90w each, 1 x 3k @90w. Because of upgrades it became too bright for my ~2 x 4 space.

My first move is installing PWMs on all of the V29`s.

I like strips because so much more versatile. You can add and take away small increments, and adjust powers and canopies sooooo much better than using less single point sources like bulbs or Cobs

@hybridway2 im not in the market, was just curious. I’m building my own right now, almost have everything
That's Awesome! Nothing like the feeling of completing your own Rig! Especially if it comes out nice & you're proud of it.
Mind sharing with us your GamePlan?
New to LED?
I see now strips! Good Choice! They are amongst my favorite. Looking to find a bunch to replace the burnt out Horizon Strip lights i have. Just need to pull one out for dimensions then pair to 120w drivers w/ 8 strips or so.
I loved these strip lights though!20191123_115823.jpg

Eventually I’ll have it all mounted nice, first priority was the lights themselves. Once I get my last 2 strips of uvb I’ll have 1240Watts

Nice! So a 9x4 ish? UVB strip diodes?
Adding any 660 & 730? 420, 390?
What k-temp?

Ya... 550watts is plenty for an entire 4x4.

haha, lol a 4.5x4.5
I kind of have a little of everything
280, 310, 365, 380, 410, 660, 730, easier just to say click the link and go see what i have lol
sorry i'm lazy today
So you're doing the walls n everything up to 32" tall about? Not 1200 overhead?

right now its all on the ceiling, also only 1140 right now, the uvb strips are not here yet, also far from done esthetically as well, lots of adjustments to make

the center lights kill the brightness of the other lights in the picture lol, the way the camera works I guess

I'd like to add CO2, but this tent is a bit....ok it has a lot of holes in it haha, just have it covered with plastic. Also, the wife would probably shit if she saw me using a gas bottle for growing
I'll find out soon how much these girls can take without it, I know not as much as I have in here unfortunately

The kicker is, the drivers add up to 1240, constant power so always 1240, if i had maxed out the lights i'd be somewhere around 1600W. For ease of driver selection and to ensure my lights last as long as they should I have them under powered. At constant power, when i dim them, voltage and current both change, so gotta be careful what you are doing

Apologize for the constant editing, I keep rewording so easier for people to understand

I just hope your plants dont Freak. Have you done this before?
Cool set-up though. Dimmer is all you need.

Nope have not done this before, actually only my third grow (fourth is in the veg tent). All my drivers are meanwell xlg series, most are -AB so will have external pots, but all have the internal pots, so everything is dimmable, and pretty isolated...1240W across 11 drivers

Lol , yes so I've been told. I'm hoping that the dimmers will allow me to tune that spectrum properly. Less radiance, more red, less blue for flowering while pumping up blue for veg.

I try to veg outdoors but I'm 40°N so it's a limited window. Soon as I can I'm going to veg a few plants with lower red, higher blue and then observe growth, stretch, leaf morphology.

Yikes  That is alot of drivers.. hopefully not that many dimmers needed. Would look like an old school stereo equalizer :D
So far I don't have anything dimmed, but I am only using the 4 spider farmers so 400W, the outside whites which is another 150, The far red only strips at 50W, and the UVA strips at 50W, all at the very top of the tent. Topped only couple days ago, so just giving them a little time, will be switching to 12/12 next week sometime, then i can start using more
