I really like the look of the CLU048 1825... in fact my next build will utilise 8 of them run at 1400mA for around 72W each, and around 580W total. At this current they are approximately the same efficiency as CXB3590 putting out 50W. They cost about the same price as the CXB, so it's a no brainer really. I plan to run this in 4x4 using 3 x HLG-240H-C1400 or similar.

I actually assumed you had already bought the CXBs for this build, otherwise I would have told you about these COBs sooner. Peace
No Brainerd why? More lumens?

Hey! Glad to hear your getting a build & grow going. Will you be doing a thread?
Bet you're excited. If there's ever anything I can help w/ , don't hesitate to ask. You & anyone else for that matter can PM me anytime.
I'll be needing help myself on my builds when the time comes.
I have the coolest idea for builds. Dying to execute one & show everyone. Pretty sure no one has ever implemented my idea before.
Do you have plants ready to go? When are you starting your build?
Good luck!

lol you're funny. Not my first build, and not my first grow by a longshot haha. I am definitely no master grower, but at this time I do grow the best dank in my area (not difficult lol). Anyway thanks for the kind wishes. I am currently smoking my own Berry White S1 pheno and I am just in love with this plant. What seems like it could be the perfect expression of the two original parents, I feel super lucky that this single S1 seed that I was gifted turned out to be as beautiful as it is. Sometimes it tastes like sweet berries and then other times you taste the White widow flavours and it takes me right back to the 90s!! Amazing. Cheers I'm super fckn high right now bongsmilie

how many CLU058 1825 chips can a hlg185-1400 run compared to a hlg240-1400?
also what's the difference between 80 CRI and 90 CRI?
Upto 143V output on the HLG-185H-C1400, so divide that by 52... Only 2 per driver in this setup. HLG-240H-C1400 can output upto 197V, so it can run 3 per driver.

CRI is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_rendering_index

People largely disagree on which is better for growing weed (surprise surprise), but I personally like the look of the spectrum of the citizen 90 CRI chips at around 3000/3500K so that is what I went with for my new light.

Well I've ordered 8 cxb3590 (36v) and 40" x 5.886" from heatsink usa. I plan to use hlg185-1400 for 4, and 240-1750 for the other 4. I'm wondering if maybe I should've gone with clu058 and some different drivers.

So a hlg320-1050 with output of 305v, would be able to power 5 of the clu058?

Although I have not used them myself, it appears that these should work fine for cloning and keeping a bonsai mother or 2.

Google the datasheets for these COBs. Look at 1212, 1818, 1825, 3618.

@BOBBY_G / @CobKits did some testing of these COBs... I don't remember which thread but you can search it here.
I know how to get the data for lumen, but don't know the LER of those chips.

Thanks anyway, I'll look into Bobby_G and Cobkits posts.

How does this plan look for my 4x4' tent? 6 Clu058 1825 with two 240-1400, and 4 cxb3590 with one 185-1400.
Setup like this, with the citizen cobs on top and bottom, and the Cree cobs in the middle.
3-4-3 formation

Should be good I reckon. At >600W you should smash it in there!!
