Ah ok thanks gaius, yea that light is a little out of my price range. It does look sweet though, I think i'm gonna go with an apache AT120WR. It's $715 and some change with some voucher code i found in another forum. I just hope it can handle a 4x4 area with good results. And if that doesn't happen then i'm goin to have to spend the 850 on 4 hans panels. Ahhhh decisions decisions :]
I suspect that light won't adequately cover a 4x4. Might be better off grabbing an xgs190 and some T5 side-lighting. If heat isn't a huge issue, supplimental T5s can give you spectacular results.

One AT120wr will NOT cover 4'x4'. You would need the 600.
4 Hans will work fine if you keep your plants short, under 30".

An at120 is good for 2x2 to 2x3max. You would need 3-4 in a 4x4. I did well with 2 once, but I also had a freakishly big yielding blue widow to help things out. and then failed when I changes strains. I used 3 on the last one late in flower and really noticed how full the whole canopy got. Then I got the at600, which is basically 4 in one, and I am getting amazing results that are truly compare able to a 1000w hps. The link is in my sig.

And the at120 is old, the newer version is the at200 and it can handle a 3x3 max. The at200 is newer tech in the same housing/design as the at120.

If he's got nearly $800 to spend on lights, seems like A51 and T5 would be the best way to go for yield. Though the A51s are all out for another month. Maybe start vegging with the T5s and then add the A51 when it gets back in stock.

In my 4x3 space I'm currrently running 200w of 2700k T5s on each side (400w total), and an xgs190 over the top. I happened to have 2 8-tube fixtures left over from a previous grow and I just put 4 bulbs in each one. They also work really well as reflective side-paneling, so there just a ton of light in there.

well thanks for your input guys i guess it's gonna be the hans panels then. cause heat is an issue. I was thinkin a51 and some suplemental lighting but if i'm gonna do multiple lights i'm just gonna go with the hans. i'm gonna be doin a scrog so i think i'll be able to keep em down under 30". I was pretty set on that apache but after reading your input i guess it aint gonna cut it so...hans it is :) if i can afford it. Cause $850 is gonna be pretty close to breaking the budget. Hmmm...gonna have to pinch pennies throughout the rest of the setup :/

The XGS and AT200 are damn near identical on paper, biggest difference I see is HOW they deliver their light (not the product itself, the light...)

From what I understand the AT120 was suggested at 2.5x3' by the Company, and the same for the AT200, but I am trying to stretch it to be another single-point 3x3' area.

I do think all four of these panels are just about as interchangeable as you can get between companies... (is it JUST ironic that they love AW and 3:2, no way jose...) I do not personally own a 120, but my friend Grene may take a reading under one of his 3:2's for a better idea of the sgs vs. 120 thing.

If I could point something out- when you are suggesting coverage, Grenegenes, do you consider yourself talking about the well-saturated coverage of the 120 as 2x2', or is that it?

Just trying to picture it, Im sure seeing an AT120 "saturate" a 2x2' area, compared to a SS200 "saturating" a 2x2' are two completely different experiences...

Top gun- To get an idea of the AT200 in a 3x3' drop in on my Signature, been busy lately but in the first couple pages there are "bare" shots with just the Light/Tent/Screens than you can get an idea of things... personally I would steer towards x2 SGS', but I love WR soooo...

be safe everyone!

btw, get the fucking like button back.

All you folks keep talking about light in watts. That is old school and especially does not apply to LED lighting. Watts is a measurement of electrical power, not how much light is delivered. LED light is measured in lumens and LEDs get about 10% or so more efficient each year thus delivering more lumens per watt. If a MFR doesn't state how many lumens their LED light is delivered you won't be too wrong in assuming the worst. Even then many MFRs, especially from a certain overseas country, lie through their teeth. Technically, an LED luminaire, including a grow light but especially the actual LEDs, should have a LM79 and LM80 test report. Without that, caveat emptor.

If your a manufacture of bulbs/lights with the end user being humans then your on the right track. But lumens are for humans...and mean close to nothing to plants. The actual photon output in µmols/s/m2(sometime referred to as par) is what actually matters to how it will translate to photosynthesis.

Thanks guys. And to pf wag...I'm not interested in lumens or watts bro. Just $$$ and the footprint. :) can't fill the room if you aint got the coverage. And scotch i cant afford two xgs or i'd be all over it. Like two sewer rats on a hot cheetoh. :) My budget is about 8. So the hans are still tippin the scales for my debate :) a little over at $850 for 4 of them but i think is gonna give me the best coverage for that price range. Also i agree with the bringin of the like button back.

Northern lightsxskunk 3 weeks 5 days from 12/12 flip under a 270watt 7 band led light from eBay.180 bucks. Topped once. Admittedly didn't veg long enough. 45 days from seed and only 11 inches tall but was starting to preflower. Impatient decision for sure but I'm still happy with the results for under 200 bucks

What's up LEDers. I'll be starting a journal soon. Indoor grow, durban poison, Area 51xgs 190 LED. 2 plants. Very first grow ever. Just wanted to say hi. Let the games begin.

K thanks guys :)And packetloss...how big of an area were you covering with that light? And can you post a link on where to find it?

The tent is 2'8"x2'8"x5'4". Earth worth. Light is a from a company I can't even remember. They ship out of florida though. Its 90 3 watt diodes and will cover a 4x4 supposedly but keeping the light about 4 inches above the canopy gets decent penetration. Things I've learned....LST is a must with LED to maximize light to lower bud sites otherwise they get very little if any and defoliate large fan leaves covering bud sites. Do these things and you will be surprised with the results

Also this is growing in 2.5 gallons of soil... So its limited. Will be rollin critical super silver haze soon and doing a full journal. Going to employ mainlining techniques. This was my first grow also.
