The scientific data seems to be incomplete concerning LEDs .. the fact some of the newer led panels are now using white light is kind of ironic LOL
i will get around to buying one of these things one day, or perhaps build one, the build quality of some of the existing models seems quite poor
i do not like to waste money / or at least give money to imbeciles who produce low quality goods at inflated prices

when science can agree exactly what frequency/spectrum of light is required so that white lights are not needed in the panels and
the type of lenses 60 90 or 120 degree 1 watt 2 watt or 3 watt etc etc
i have looked at the popular models around SG602, Blackstar 375 mag plus, spectra and some others , none of these make me want to rush out and spend money, varying results on different forums and a lack of pics!!!
and one too many dubious grow reports from folk who are reps or received hospitality of some kind from the manufactures of some of these lights has not done their credibility any favours
shame there are not more grow reports out there from folk who are more credible or at least "known" i guess when the price comes down lol kind of a catch 22

I spend the money and purchased an A-51 350 and have been very happy with it. I haven't noticed ANY increase in my electric bill, in fact... when I set up the light, I turned down my hot water temp just slightly and my bills are lower now WITH the light running 18/6 than they were before. Also, my plants have been so healthy looking and growing very well. I have a very limited set up with no temp controls or air flow and they seem to be doing just fine. The only issue with the LED light is that it doesn't produce any heat which causes the soil to remain moist for much longer than I'd like, lol.

Look at all of the LED haters, let's give them a wave :finger::wall:

After reading all of the pages here I was pretty disappointed with the hid guys trashing leds.

It sounds like a bunch of bias statements by people who have experience with shitty LEDs or expensive less efficient pre-fab models.

I think if you looked at a lot of the grows in this very same led section, you would see LEDs are viable.

Do hid have better applications than LEDs? Sure, maybe. You could also pound a screw in with a hammer. Nothing like brute force to get the job done.

I am no expert here, just a very avid reader of the led section and recent builder of several high quality component builds.

Can't we all just get along lol :peace:
