Hey guys, I’m 4 weeks and 2 days into flowering and I watered today only to notice that some fans leaves are turning light green? Info here
:- 12L pot
Watering ph always 6.5/6
X4 23w 2700k CFLs
X2 40w 6400k CFLs
Bio bizz all mix soil
Plant is like 27 “ tall
Have been feeding 1.5L of water like every 3/4 days with 1.5ml seaweed extract and 3.0ml of bio bizz bloom. These light leaves have only appeared within the last 3 days or so, I’m not sure what’s causing it, it may be normal and I kinda hope it is lol. Have recently cut off a few lower bottom fan leaves as they were dying off.7036EF04-4C02-4FD7-B24C-2D410D1D14EF.jpeg DD438F11-1E94-4874-9F0E-E242E2F7B5F1.jpeg

Dark leaves and tips curling under usually mean too much nitrogen. Plant and buds look good.
Thanks man!! So your saying it should be the lighter green colour? And the darker is too much nitrogen? If that’s the case I’m happy haha! The plant has always been a darker shade of green until a few days ago, thanks for the reply man! I thought it may have been asking for more Nutes?

when plants flower, they're producing a lot of new growth. they need to be fed enough to keep up with it, or they'll start to consume their older, lower leaves to support the new growth. when you flip to flower, its a good idea to keep feeding them veg nutes till they're done stretching. then you want to feed less N, but still some. the first two weeks after the stretch when they're setting bud, i like to feed them pretty heavy, then after that two weeks, i start to give them a little less each week till i'm down to about 1/4 strength for the last week to ten days.
there's also a thing nearly all plants do towards the end of their life, called "senescence". they start to produce a gas called ethylene that causes leaves to yellow and fall off. ethylene is what makes fruit ripen, but it also makes stuff go bad if its exposed long enough.
its not really anything to worry about, just be aware that it exists.

Wow dude some quality info there!! Learned a thing or two haha thanks for the reply!! So my plant is looking ok? Should I not feed more bloom nutes? I used the seaweed extract for my veg nutes and just carried it over, feeding less than the bloom nutes, it just surprised me when I pulled her out of her grow area and found lighter green leaves as last time (4 days ago) they were all a dark green colour and have been since I had her as a seedling, this senesence I THink Is happening with my lowest fan leaves and I’ve slowly chopped them off as they have completely shrivelled, I just thought they weren’t getting enough light as I’m growing with CFLs, but really dude that was a sweet reply thanks I get ya some rep :)

I just thought it may have been a bit early as I’m only like 4 weeks and 2 days into actual flowering.

this is how i feed, you gotta find your own way, but this is what works for me, in in 10 gallon Hempy buckets. i use three different kind of Jack's plant food.
in veg i use 20-20-20. i feed them this all the way through the stretch, usually about ten days to two weeks after i put them in the flower tent. i give them about 300 ppm in veg once they get a decent size, then i jump up to about 500 ppm when i put them in the flower tent.
when they've set bud good, and pretty much quit stretching, i use blossom booster, which is 10-30-20, for two weeks. its basically my PK boost. i feed this at 800 ppm-1000ppm, depending on how much the strain likes to eat. after two weeks of that, i finish up with Jack's citrus, and drop ppm by 100 every feeding or two, till i'm down to 200 ppm. they finish at that. i don't do the flush thing, but i do taper off at the end.
i also foliar feed calcium, once every two weeks. Jack's has a lot of sulfur, which is a good thing, but NO calcium. also, sulfur and calcium don't get along in solution, wanting to combine and precipitate out into dust in the bottom of your watering bucket. i get around this by foliar feeding with a product called yield booster. its just calcium in solution, meant for tomatoes, to stop blossom end rot, but it works great on my plants, haven't seen one calcium spot since i started using it.

Again thanks for your info and the way you do things! This is my first grow so I’m trying to keep it pretty simple, do you think I’d benefit from adding a little calcium on the next feed? I could grab some and give it a shot, would I also add the normal nutes I have already been giving it? Again thanks bro!

read your nute bottles, they'll tell you whats in each bottle. most "systems" are at least 3 bottles, one will have a lot of N, one will have less N and more P and K, and one will usually be micronutes, as long as at least one of them has a decent amount of calcium, you shouldn't have to add any. they "chelate" nutrients, which is actually a sort of coating that has a negative electrical charge, so that plants can absorb them. (plants don't absorb positive ions, just negative) a useful byproduct of chelating is that things that don't usually coexist well are isolated by the chelating agents, so you don't have to worry too much about the sulfur/calcium problem

Unfortunately it doesn’t state it on the bottles, but I think my bio bizz bloom has an n-p-k of 2-7-4 and my seaweed extract is in the region of 5-2-5, I can’t seem to get info as to wether any of them contain any calcium? I’ll keep trying to find out

i just spent 20 minutes looking for a guaranteed analysis. the best i could find was the FAQ section on their website. someone asked if you needed to add calcium or magnesium. their answer was yes, if your water runs less than 200 ppm to start with.
they're also saying that biobizz is specifically formulated to use with benes, (beneficial organisms) so you might want to look into that, maybe get some mycorrhizae and trichoderma. there's a lot of pretty good products, something like great white. you don't have to, but if you're using nutes that are specifically designed for it, can't hurt to try it.

Thanks for looking man! And the info again! I’m thinking it could be magnesium and I may need to add some Epson Salt s the lower fan leaves are shrivelling also! My poor plant :(

They show the first signs of too much P too early!

While the N is a bit high. That is blocking the faster progression of the high P problem.....Lower your N and it's going to take off faster....

So, it's over fed across the board. Most likely the early use of a high P/K bloom food is the blame....For the core leaf discoloring...That's too early for "senescence" to be a factor!

So you think I should pull back in both my seaweed and bloom nutes then dude? I am 4 weeks a 3 days into flower and nearly 7 weeks since 12/12? Thanks bro.

Checked her again today, seems to be the newer middle/upper leaves are the ones that are turning light green. I have bought some Epsom salts and calmag and will add a little on my next water in a day or two, anyone think this may help? Again thanks to all the replies guys :) the pic is showing the difference of change, the light leaf is more in the middle of the plant while the darker non changed leaf is below.

NO, to both. Um "seaweed". You mean like Kelp extract? Don't run kelp in bloom but maybe once or at the max twice a month..

You might as well keep going at this point.

NEXT run. Veg nutes till week 3 after the lighting change to bloom. Week 3 mix veg and bloom 50:50. Week 4, 100% bloom and run it out...

Yeah it's P tox......classic case.

Thanks man! I used the seaweed as my veg nutes and that’s all I used lol, then started on the bloom about a week after 12/12, is there anyway I can get the leaves looking the correct colour again? I’ll feed no seaweed extract this time around and just the bloom nutes then, should I give a little lesss bloom nutes due to the p tox and just slowly give more every feed?or just bang in the same as the plant will prob get used to it and eventually want more anyway? It’s really odd as it seems to be affecting middle ish fan leaves and not cola leaves or bottom fan leaves? Thanks again dude!

Also p tox meaning potassium or phosphorous? Thanks dude :)
