Ladies: Comparing Growing & Cultivating Marijuana

I thought it would be nice ot have a section where all of us women could chat and compare growing methods etc., and learn from each other. There are so many of us growing different strain varities, using different lighting, growing materials etc,. that I think it would make an interesting discussion.
Right now I am really busy with my business but will join in as soon as I can.

Hey girly,
You asked me if I had any pics of my plants flowering at 2 weeks but I don't and only started flowering my own here last night.
If you have set your lights back to 12/12, have switched your nutes to flowering variety, replaced spectrum to more reddish orange with less blue but some blue, then you're doing ok.
By 2 weeks into flowering you should have noticed a huge stretch in their growth. If the male plants have not shown thier sex yet not it the time to start looking and get them out of there.
The females will start showing little white hairs.
I'm sure you are doing fine. Just make sure they are watered well, let them dry out in between waterings without letting them wilt.

If you can post some pics that would be great. There are also some pics on this site here under flowering. I'm sure there are some great pics but unfortunately I only get x's. ;)

If you have any more questions just ask. if you need help with getting an mm card, thats fine also. I'm willing to help any member here male or female but this would be fun to compare notes here.:blsmoke:

I was goning to get one of those light movers but they are just too expensive right now with all the materials we need for building etc,. so hubby got a pc of tracking and made a manual one. Its works great. He got the tracking from Busy Bee and the hardware T-bolts(with anchors) so that the system is secured.

Every few hours I move the light a bit and every few days move my plants around. I have a fan in there to strengthen them but do not have an exhaust system set up yet.

While I went to switch the lights to 12/12 last night I noticed that one of my plants has already started to preflower. I looked on all of my plants and haven't seen any signs of male so I am going to flower them all. I switched my nutes to DNF for flowering. I have quite the selection of different strains but only have a general idea of which ones so this is going to be a fun surprise.

Its taking me a while to get used to my 1000 watt light as I have never had a HID light before except for the little 100 watt I have but the plants are loving it. They are growing so fast that the tops are starting to get slightly scorched( a bit of yellowing) so I move the light up every 5 or 6 days.

The greatest part of this grow is that my hubby is starting to get involved in it and has even asked when I am starting some more seeds 'cause he has plans.:roll: He's been a big help so far.
I know chiceh often mentions how her man does the hard labour so I too am kinda likin' this.:mrgreen:

Well I don't have a journal going right now, but have 3 on here in the past.
I grow mostly sativa and sativa blends cause I like that high :mrgreen:.
I do Hydro and soil, indoor and outdoor, I do it all, lol.
Right now I have 4 large mother plants which I made by combining 4 to 6 clones in a large pot together. The reason I am doing this is to create many clones for the spring outdoor grow. So far they are just vegging under a 1000 watt mh in a mylar grow room I set up in my unfinished basement. They are getting really bushy, I have the light far away cause I want them to stretch. This makes great clones. So in a month or so I will make 100's of clones to plant outside in May.
I also have 2 PPP clones from my last hydro grow that I put in soil pots, just have them vegging under a flouro grow shop light right now, not sure what to do with them, lol. Maybe I will just keep em and plant them in larger pots outside like I did last year.
I have 10 White Widow seeds stored and plan on germinating them this spring for a hydro grow.
That is what's up with me grow wise right now. I am no expert, but I love to garden and can help where I can. :mrgreen::peace:

Yes Chiceh. That is basically my plan. Since I started my plants inder cfl's they stretched but only enough that when i then added that 1000 watts they just bushed out. I also took clones and they are doing great so i am flowering these mother plants while growing the clones and planting some more seeds.

They really take a LOT more water with the 1000 watt but my hubby is filling up the water bucket now like yours is. :mrgreen:
I'm gonna plant outdoors this year but I am going away this summer so i am not sure about the details of my plan yet.

Yes, I do Hydro and Soil, l have the Cool Cab for my hydro and will start that up once my outdoor is planted. I run it in my garage so the warm temps are better. My plans are in motion for the spring. It is going to be crazy soon, with all my clones. They do dry out faster under the 1000 watt eh? I am watering every 3 days now, lol. :mrgreen::peace:

Yes I remember you telling me about the boombox and have seen some grows from there. Hubby is now talking about doing that with our garage especially since I am probably getting my card soon.

Yes that light is really warm but it isn't drying any of my clones out because I put them in these containers I bought from Lee Valley. its this special gel that you put them in and add just a bit of water and they are go to go. I didn't purchase the packs just for these clones but for my clematis but then thought "hey why not."?
I don't have a lot of experience with marijuana clones so I hope this goes well and again I didn't mark them off as which plant they came from to distinquish them. I'm so bad with that. Oh well :-|

Right now it is about 4 feet, the plants are on the ground and the light is on from hook from the ceiling with a big reflector.

Thanks Chiceh. I think my light is a bit too close still but I will keep a close check on them. I don't have a big reflector, just a 3 foot one but I really like the fact that I can ove it back and forth across the ceiling.

Until I can afford a light mover that is.

I have my light in a mylar room, so it is all white. With the light being so high, the whole room is bright as heck. I almost need shades when going in there, lol. :cool:

My babies are doing well - they have nice buds forming yay!! They are about 3/4" buds at this piont. I was looking for comparision pics cause I wanted to know if that is more than normal for the time in flowering. Which at this piont they have been under 12/12 for just 2 1/2 weeks.

I have been doing some LST .... or my version of it. Basically I have spread out the main branches by tieing them down on the side of the pot. I need to pick up some battieries for my camera so I can throw some pics up.

I made up my grow room myself...... I'm the builder in the family. I had to build a frame and door for the area, lightproof, etc. My husband is coming around to the plants..... he's pretty impressed at what I've been able to do with them. Which I gotta admit really makes me feel good. I purchased my seeds with a friend and we are both growing the same 2 strains. Her husband commented to my husband last week that smallest plant looked better than thier best plant.

I have to toot my own horn on my babies :-) I got laid off a month ago and haven't had much luck on finding other employment in my area. So I'm kinda feeling like a loser in general, but I can make things grow!

Thats excellent girly. I am building a grow room too but hubby is doing most of the work.
We'd love to see some pics when you get some batteries.
I do the same thing with the branches.
Sorry to heat about you losing your job but this hobby will keep you entertained and keep you busy. It is really fun growing this stuff and does give you a sense of pride for sure.

My hubby is pretty impressed with my grow also.

He rigged up a manula light mover. it works great.

It is legal to sell weed in Canada. If you know of someone with an mm card they can sponsor you to be their legal grower even if you don't have a card yourself.

And check this out Chiceh. Its even legal for us to send it in the mail. :mrgreen::blsmoke:

I swear to God one day I will immigrate to Canada. I already love Tim Horton's and Trailer Park Boys..... does that make me an honory (sp) Canadian?

Most of my experience has been either office administration or construction estimating/project management for sub contractors. I also have a strong sales background but I just don't want to do commision sales anymore. I was laid off from my last 2 jobs.... and that makes my resume now look like shit cause thier are 2 short term employers recently. I think that's why I'm not getting calls on my resume.

Chiceh...it's illegal for me to grow too :P Don't think I haven't considered it

Girly - don't worry...you will find something else soon. Everything has a season and a purpose. As much as you can enjoy your time from work. Growing can be therapeutic if you let it....smile.

Ok back to what I came to do now .....

Pics of my girls for my ladies.... I'm updating you before I even update my grow journal. The first pic shows them in thier room with the HPS off.... my camera freaks when I try to take a pic with the hps on. The rest of the pics I took them out of the room - doesn't show the bud development the way I wanted though. Last pic I want to know if I should trim off all those baby leaves under the canopy of large fan leaves.

And thanks for the words of encouragement - it's also that time of the month for me so it's been a little harder to keep my spirits up the last couple days, but I will bounce back - I always do :-) I have a lot to be grateful for in my life and I'm not pumping plasma for cash yet LOL.

Lacy - glad to be here - this forum is a great idea. I do have a question for you and the rest. I have been getting wired advice on the subject so I want to ask you guys.

My best friend Nichole and I are going to Amsterdam in 2- weeks and want to bring some seeds back. But we've been hearing that many are getting caught due to the new X-ray or security monitoring equipment at the airports. From what we've been told bust are up 50%. Any suggestions/ideas will be much appreciated.
