Kids and Cars, Yesterday Vs. Today

I love that feeling of being that much higher then all the other cars. Truck drivers are the best I've seen them too lazy to get out of their car so they just run through the shopping carts to move them out of the way. My friend had a ram and she filled it up with 100 dollars worth of gas every week. I filled my civic up once every three weeks for fifty bucks lol. there's a price to pay for all that torque and it doesn't come cheap.

Touching on what racer said, they are dirt cheap to maintain not to mention to buy. Tires are cheap, oil filters, they only take 3.5 l of oil whereas my big jimmy (gmc Acadia) takes about 6. I can go to my local junkyard and find any part for very cheap as well.
I hated moving back into a car, had that go-cart feeling plus I like to see over everyone. The more practical financial decision for me would be to simply sell my car and buy a Tacoma w/a V-8 of course. I've priced out muscle cars already, and I now wish I had kept that 73' Mopar b/c they're worth a small fortune now...even if not running. I owned a Dodge Dakota(V8)before the Tundra, and promptly dumped it at 35K miles after taking a test drive in the Toyota.

Peace

my first car sun was a 67 camaro, 327 4 speed that i loved to death.. i rue the day i sold her.. :(

but as to why kids today prefer honda's and other rice burners over old school muscle, the answer is obvious to me.. price.. i for one can hardly afford an old muscle car.. ffs, to replace my old car would run me more like $20k and you can pick up a rice burner and do some serious mods to it for well under 20k ime..

nothing still beats the sound of a v8, but i still miss the 20,000 plus redline on the big v12 formula engines.. if that sound doesn't go straight to ones soul, idk what to say to you.. :)

~snipped. Danged one-video rule ... ~

don't forget to turn the sound all the way up either.. :D
Gawd, when those V10s and V12s really got into it on a road course, they sounded like gangsta rap for whales. Raw.

One of my favorite-ever engine noise vids ... cn

in my opinion the americans are decades behind in terms of the engines they produce when compared to those japs! holy shit do they make some nice ones. all of them man. from nissan to toyota and don't get me started on my 9000rpm honda vtec machines. my buddy has a dakota and has a terrible exhaust leak. he's afraid to drive ten minutes away from his house for munchies when he's on a quarter tank and it's only like a v6.

what do you guys think of this: a v12 the size of your hand lmfao!

I don't get the whole lowering of trucks. I saw a truck the other day that couldn't make it over a speed bump, WTF?
I want a truck to haul stuff, get me to good fishing spots and get me around in tough terrain.

The Americans make good engines also. My sources tell me a modded LS1 is the preferred engine for Japanese-body drift cars now ... very low weight for all that displacement. cn

People don't make their civics loud to be cool, they do it to piss off entire city blocks of people that are sleeping. Meh, over privileged douche nozzles gotta flaunt that trust-fund somehow.
On second thought, you were right...most owners of these cars are attention whores.

I have a high school up the street, and am long past tired of hearing their vehicles.

So now I simply toss handfuls of roofing nails in the road.

Eventually they will figure it out and drive somewhere else.

how about just a toyota camery thye last 300,000 or more and ive seen them run perfect. a car is a car. if your going to spend thousands on something buy a cottage for 60,000 somewhere over seas, that way you can show it off and still have a car to drive in.

This is almost completely unrelated but yeah... my buddy back in the day drove a firefly. Shitty, small, cheap hatchback. We go down to my farm to shoot off some guns and on the way back the fucker hit an outstretched rock and ripped the muffler off. Afterwards you could hear the bitch coming from miles off it was so loud.

If I could catch the offenders, they would be sent to the ER...but I refuse to get up that early.

And you're right, nails are a resource in need of conserving...so now I recycle:

I had a drag not long ago with one of those low, loud, rap bouncing rides,..from light to light was maybe a mile or mile and a half,... between the boxes, what`s up on the racks and gear in the bed,...1/2 maybe 3/4 ton, so we go,...he get`s there about three car lengths before me. He couldn`t figure out why I was laughing and he actually thought he won the race !! Anyway I got stopped cuz he took a right and I went straight, cost me $175 to teach him his car aint worth a nickle, but he still thinks he beat my 02/ F150 in a race !!

The best thing about those cars,..watching them swerve all over the road avoiding bumps, and seeing hundreds of oil stains and pans in the breakdown lane on 495. Don`t lower your car in MA. it`ll cost ya way too much hastle !!

I will say this,..Those Jetta`s, 2dr. cadillacs, or any Saab, have very impressive sprint speeds right outta the factory !!

Man that 3-wheeler in your avatar is badass. Is that yours? I had a 350x 3-wheeler. You know the one with the white tank, it's a 4-stroke. That thing was so much fun and it had some serious torque. I would throw some paddle tires on it and take it out to the dunes and shred! But dude the 250's would always blow the doors off me off the start. The power bad on a 250 kicks in at like the middle of the second gear. The 350's powerband kicks in at towards the midddle of 3rd.

Where the 350 excels is climbing. We would find a steep sketchy spot on competition hill or a really steep bowl out in the desert and go alll out. The 250 would dwarf me on the start but if he started digging in the sand half way up the hill he was fucked. I would stroll right by...LOL ahhh memories.

But you know what beats them all, don't you? The big bad death machine. CR500 in the three wheeler version. Holy shit! I rode one and it scared the shit out of me!! LOL

hhmm, well maybe a honda civic with just exhaust (is pretty much your typical rice rocket, and most do sound like insects).. But some hondas are cool, like this S2000.
