eventually means time passed......nice attempt to take things out of context tho.....close minded *nix user eh? shame
No, I caught you in a lie and now you are back pedaling. Or at the very least, your memory is piss poor.

I'm not a close minded nix user. I'm totally happy with any apt-get flavor, yum is for suckers.

I think you both lose.

ppp dialup in Linux would never be faster than windows on cable/dsl. It simply doesn't work that way.
Dialup bill = Internet bill.

Know what I miss about ppp on Linux? Pinging friends on IRC with a custom packet that contained a hangup string.

I didn't say it was faster, i said my webbrowser rendered webpages faster than windows.....maybe it was simply as fast....which was good enough for me. Looking back the locally named ISP was just reselling a bigger corporations dial up, im sure. i didnt care, because that group account worked for like 2 years.

I will conceed my CLI is weak. meh....in more recent years i found a forum with some CLI commands i copy/paste to successfully drop torrent tracking packets. just alter the route table file to drop em, and bingo, undetected torrents.

I view you as closed minded *nix user because youre so alone in the world your attempting to troll a stranger about meaningless personal experiences. You think youre the only one to be exposed to the world? People are strange, when you're a stranger.....

mixed up who i was addressing there, the last 2 paragraphs are for see4

my friends didnt argue webpages showed up as fast as theirs.....sure speed tests lost, and on the MMO i didnt have that few ms advantage, but usability wise, it motivated me to continue knowing and using it.
