I really dont know why ppl are saying "looks good" "healthy" etc etc. Honestly, it looks really small and stretchy for 1 month.. I suggest getting more lights closer to the plant, reflective walls etc.. By replying with "looks good" etc , the OP is thinking the plant is looking the way it should look after a month.. Which in my opinion, isnt the case.

Well, as much as I would have liked to have heard "good work" thanks for being honest.

Ironically, I taped aluminum foild all around the walls and floor of the shelf before even reading this. As for the light, I have 2 48" tube plant lights. Very bright. I moved them a bit closer. For a couple of days now I've planned on picking up another plant light from wal mart. (A 24") I have to have a different section for the vegging plants I'll be planting here within the week due to this plant being in the flowering stage before the others will be. Until I plant the others, I'll use both lights on this one plant.:blsmoke:

Looks good. I am a first timer also and was always worried about how mine looked compared to others on the site. After a while I realized that as long as they look healthy thats all I care about. A lot of people start flowering at 4 weeks but mine were a little small to put into flower so I went almost 7 weeks. I am 17 days into flower now and they are still alive a have nice buds starting. Keep it up and don't get discouraged at little problems along the way. Looks like you are doing good though. How about nutes? what are you using?

That light should be pretty good for vegging.. Esp if thats the only plant under it.I think there is something else going on.. Are you using straight tap water? What are the temps in your grow area?

OH PS- can someone post a link to a walmart grow light? Ive heard several ppl say they got a plant light from walmart but even after searches I just cannot find one to see what they look like.

Currently I'm using a diluted 30-30-30 Acid Plant Food which provides for all necessities. I'm ordering the MaxiGro most likely. I've spent so many days trying to find a good fert for veg and flowering. Couldn't find what I was looking for. (20-10-10 & for flowering 10-20-20)

I am on a budget (a.k.a wife) and had to go cheap with nutes. I saw Shultz 10-15-10 for veg and Schultz bloom 10-54-10 to flower. They are working great and no burning. I am at full strength every watering now. I found it at Home Depot. $4.95 for veg and $3.99 for flowering.

The temp of my entire room stays decently warm seeing as how it's so cold out. I'm sure of the exact temp, but I never get cold. Lol.

As for the lights you were looking for, you have to buy the setup for 48" fluorescent tube lights. There's a huge selection of 48" lights at wal mart. The setup holding two lights was $10. Then you buy the plant lights. They're $5 a piece.

It appears they don't have them online, but next trip to Wal Mart, go to the bulb section. You can get both items from that one isle. It's worth it. I was amazed that the light system was a total of $20 and it's doesn't use much electricity.

I can tell you what the problem was with my plant, btw. I transplanted it late. When I transplanted, you could see what seemed to be miles of roots wrapped around and around the cup. The plant didn't even grow for a full week. However, after transplanting yesterday, I've already noticed some good changes. I know, it was a dumb mistake, but it's my first time even making it this far.

ahh.. well there ya go.. It was root bound then.. It should start to take off now and grow alot faster.I think I had a walmart grow light a long time ago and it did do quite well vegging 1 plant.. But I gave it some old MG plant food that was so old it was thick like syrup and the next morn the plant was dead as can be lol.. I dont know what happ to that light.. Do they sell them in 12'' or 18'' size? or just 24'' ? I wouldnt mind picking up 1 for 20.00 for a clone/veg area.

Well, I know they had a 24" and a 32" at the Wal Mart I went to. I seem to recall a 12". However, you know how Wal Marts are. For the most part they carry the same items, and at the same time, you find something in one and not the other. Here's the catch, and this confused me. The replacement bulbs for the 48", 32", and 24" were all the same price...$5. And, the setup I have was $10 (Nobulbs) and the setup for the 32" and 24" (which only held one bulb, and came with that bulb) was the same price. That's why I bought what I did. I got the best deal.
