As long as you guys keep avoiding the discussion of religion, you will never understand why the Arabs hate the Jews and the Muslims hate the Jews and by extension christians.

It is very relevant. To tell people to love one another and treat each other fairly simply does not work when one side wants the other destroyed for merely existing.

I don't know about that. Any group that invaded and displaced the people of Palestine would be treated as foreign occupiers. Religion would have nothing to do with it. Its really all about power, who has it, who wants it and what people are willing to do about it that drives the situation. Religion is just window dressing used by Israel and it's enemies to justify their acts. If the occupiers of what is now called Israel were Muslims from Indonesia, then the rhetoric would be about the sect in power. Its all about power and politics.

Britain owned palestine. The UN voted to give parts of land to the Jewish people. The Arabs attacked the Jewish people after Britain pulled out. The state of Palestine was owned by the brits for a long time.

That's just a recap of history with some religious bullshit included and not even very accurate. Palestine was a territory under British control for 20 years, with Arabs holding administrative control of the territory. It was also during this time that Zionists, not "the Jewish People", were given the nod by the British government to emmigrate to Palestine. This has little to do with religious principle. Its about a displaced people and the people who displaced them.

Do you disagree that the resistance would be the same if Indonesian Muslims backed by US miltary power displaced the Palestinians?

Replace all the instances of 'Jews' in your paragraph with 'Israelis' and your statements become true.

The whole point of this thread is to drive home the DIFFERENCE between those of Jewish faith and what the Israeli government does, ostensibly in their name. Why?

First, because plenty of Jewish people fucking hate what Israel the nation does in their name, many of whom are Israeli nationals themselves.

Second, this means that Israel the country is abusing the religion of Judaism for its own abusive purposes, effectively placing it on the same moral ground as ISIL or any other sectarian terrorist group.

Third, this confusion is intentional; it's very purpose is to skew the perceptions and comments of others into just a few channels which they can effectively combat by calling the opinion or person antisemitic and thus discounting their credibility.

Yea I do. The Israeli government arnt really Jewish? They just do fuxked up shit in the name of the Jews , but really its for their own agenda and isn't for the Jewish people at all? I'm a kind of there? Britain controlled Palestine for 28 years. Hardly a long time considering how long the Ottomans controlled the area. Also, it was Zionists that attacked Palestinian people just as much as Palestinians attacked Zionists after the 1948 pull-out of British and UN troops. Note, it was Zionists, not "The Jewish People". Zionists believe in a militant god-given right to occupy Palestine and don't represent all those of the Jewish faith. Just like Palestinians don't represent all of Islam or even Arabs for that matter.

None of this has to do with religion. Its about power and territory.

To say the Israeli government represents all Jewish People would be like saying the Saudis represent all of Islam.

I don't know how all of this ends but I'd like to see the US take a neutral stance towards Israel and cut all military aid. As long as the US looms behind Israel, they won't even consider making peace. It's kind of like the jerk-kid acting the bully with his big brother in the background just in case the little shit starts getting back what he was giving.

I also don't want to see any more US hardware used to smash Palestinian homes, so maybe cut off sales of US hardware too. Let them use Russian or Chinese shit.

The Jews were driven out of Palestine like 1000 years ago. How can anybody use the bible to justify Israel? People who's family owned an olive orchard for 600 years lose out because, Bible?

I honestly have no idea what ends this mess. I just want the US to get the hell out.
