And it also doesn't help that there is no shortage of people claiming they can grow wanting to get there foot in the door. Its one of those deals where if you won't work for $12/Hr, they'll just get the next guy who comes through the door who will.
Yeha i was thinking the same thing but they get you by saying 20 anhr and then they offer a trimmers position @ 11-12 hr.
Tham but what if i mean i got skills but not to run or coordinate a full out grow with 60+ plants.
But Illinois is starving for MMJ employees also they mentioned that they will have product for the end of November but if thats the case its already growing!
What type of questions do you guys think they may ask me?
I have a good job now but nothing close to $20 hr.

I'm kind of surprised they don't want someone with a degree, not saying its necessary, but at $20 an hour... Not trying to take the wind out of your sails or anything but you figure they would want someone with "verifiable experience". Not saying you don't have experience but you know how employers are-they treat everyone like an unskilled moron unless you have verifiable experience and references.

On the other hand you must have said the right things, you got an interview. I wouldn't embellish too much more though. They will find out soon enough if you know what you're doing or not. I would suspect the interview process might be a "test your knowledge" type of interview. I would suspect they want to see how much you know before they pay you $20/hr. If you know your shit I would think you have just a good a shot as anyone. Good luck man!
20 an hour ain't much money to work for

Im not sure where you live but 15 hr is like being rich here in Illinois except inflation is like you lived in san fran.
South Carolina but then again I no nothin about the mj dispensary stuff. But I guess 20 dollars an hour us not terrible since no hard labor is needed

Depends what the cost of living is in your state. No, $20/hr might not be much out in somewhere like LA or anywhere the cost of living is rediculous. But in the midwest, without an "education", $20/hr is a pretty damn good rate.
With no education sure but 20 x40=800 x 35% in taxes etc =520 a week so 2k a month with does an average grower dispensary person make
Edit I guess if you stayed growing at home and did that you could make a good.living

Actually i was looking for a lawyer and came upon this mmj lawyer and i linked to his website. Also i got in contact with the ppl from Good intentions just to start networking and they also gave me some good job leads.

Im not sure if it was the lawyer or the few leads from Good intentions.
But im sure that job is gonna be 20 per hr or they also have a dispensary job openings and i applied for that too. But yeha i kinda embellished a few things over the phone interview and did some name dropping but now im a bit nervous.

are you sure you are sure?
Most mmj jobs here in CO pay $8.50 an hour. If you want to make more you have to bring skills to the table.
There is no reason for mmj people to pay much more here.

Do you really think you are going to make over $40k a year in legal mmj with your skill set?

I have no idea what is going on there.
I hope you get $30 an hour, a company car and massages on Friday.
If they are offering $20 an hour, which you are sure of, why would they pick you? One would think they would have a lot of more qualified applicants. (No offense)
I heard the same thing from people here. "I'm going to make $XX working for a dispensary/grower.
Most got minimum wage, $8.50 an hour. One guy I know is now a grower and makes $12 an hour.

I wish you good fortune.
If you turn in a written application, have some one proofread for you, no offense again.

yup..they dont pay shit in the industry. They kinda take advantage of the fact that you enjoy the line of work therefor not compensating you
Or it could be the sheer fact that there are so many out their who want to do it at any wage. The mystique of growing weed gives us the feeling that we are doing something "special". I know I've been doing it so long that I don't even care anymore about the mystique of it. But, I was just thinking this morning and over the last couple of days. I work in administration. Have my own office. It's a total gravy job that I can sometimes go days without doing a damn thing. And my ratings have been over the top. But, I work in an uppidity professional environment. I am low man on the totem poll. Anyway, I was thinking, what if the people I work for and with found out I've been growing and smoking weed for years? Would they be like OMG and admonish me like I am a criminal? If I've been doing this for years, and all of a sudden I am outted? Why would I be astrosized for doing something I've been doing for years without complaint? I mean to me, it's just something I do. Like post in this board. I neither hold myself in high esteem because I do it. Nor do I beat myself up because I do. I literally only grow for my own smoke. I am no longer even associated with anyone that smokes. It's just not common in my own "personal" associations in the environment I am subjected too.

I don't know. I do think it is the "mystique" that drives the ever increasing popularity of being involved somehow in the economy and use of weed.

Oh yeah Hellmutt! Just do it man. Sounds like a nice ride. I once got a job running a printing press I knew absolutely nothing about. I just walked in and asked if they needed any help. The owner asked if I knew how to run the machine. I had an incline of
Experience in the related field and was
Unemployed. I looked him square in the eye and with confidence, told him I could run it. He would only have to demonstrate it to me once. I got the job. Learned the field and eventually became a presence in the industry. Good luck bro!

Growing weed for 20 bucks an hour sounds generic.... grow it for yourself. it only takes 15 to 30 minutes a day to tend to your garden.. that's and hour and a 45 minutes a week.. +electricity. Add 350 a month for pgne . run 2 gravitas an ac and exhaust fans... get good, pull 5 or 6 lbs using 3 4x4 trays .. crop every 10 weeks...sell it to kindergarten kids.. it's easy bro..
