You also have the right to trial with a judge only. Why would I trust a bunch of retarded people too stupid to get out of jury duty?
There actually is no federal right to waive a criminal jury trial. The court and the prosecutor both have to consent for a defendant to get a bench trial.

Teacher or nurse doesn't work. My family has both, and each from those professions has been on a month or longer trial at least twice.

If you want to get out of jury duty show up for jury selection wearing leather pants with the ass cheeks cut out & a banana stuffed down the front , tell them you hate cops & dont trust what they say , iff that dont work & they keep you until lunch time whip out the banana previously in yer britches & eat it , they'll think your a weirdo & not only let you out of current jury duty they'll put you on a do not call list .

jurors don't realize the power they have. if you sit on a jury and say...just as an example, someone was being sentenced for possession of our favorite herb. the jury could decide to not even go through with the trial and not prosecute and let the individual go... WeThePeople need to take back our power before its too late.

In that case the judge would make a judgement notwithstanding. :dunce:

As a stoner you make us all look bad.

actually, a response to my statement like that makes stoners look bad. juries do have the power to disregard either evidence or instructions to reach a verdict. just because we are currently in a system where a judge would feel that their verdict over WeThePeople is why there is a problem in the system today and, therefore, doesn't make it acceptable. someone having an opinion or an understanding of something that is different from others isn't a reason to slam them. go smoke one dude and chill out.

Use this opportunity to stick it to the man.

Most charges don't go to trial. More than likely you'll just be voting on if there is or is not enough evidence to support charges.

I'd volunteer if I could.

once again I have been threatened by the land of the free, report for jury duty or pay a 1500 dollar fine and or 6 months in jail
Phone them and inform them you would love to help but unfortunately you are double booked on the given date for gender reassignment surgery or something
should give those poor women who work in the court offices a laugh at least
spare a thought for those on minimum wage

peace

If the defendant has not harmed anybody but is being victimized by a bad law get on the jury and vote not guilty. Do not feel like you must uphold the "law" if the "law" is a bad one. Nullify. You need not tell anybody of your intentions, nor can you be punished for doing the right thing.

Juror nullification is one way to help end prohibition.

Pay no attention to the serpents gaze of the prosecutor or the judge. Think of the pictures in the post above this and all will be well.

The USA is only country I know of where the citizens decide your guilt or innocence, not the Government! The DA only presents a case to the jury.it only works if you participate.....we should all cherish "jury duty"....try other countries legal systems!
