NEW UPDATES!!
just talked to an owner of a hydro store (i am not sure how reliable the source though..), he said he contacted the majority of the 3rd party testing locations (coserta, Mecca, ect) and they said. "if the person being tested has the proper identification (i.e MMJ card) those resualt will be ommited by the testing facility...although it still leaves the case of the walmart employee who failed and was fired....this is jacked, i say F*CK IT!!!! If the only job i can get as a patient is that of a care giver then ohh well, i would rather grow bud n e ways (allows me to watch my cartoons i like..lol).

i dont think anyone should be fired/not hired for weed. but i wouldnt want to hire a heroin addict...

i cant believe banks dont drug test, thats very strange to me. you'd think they wouldnt want people on drugs handling money all day...

I was able to get my job as long as I could prove that I was a MMJ patient. I didn't have my card yet, but I had my certification. As long as you are straight out with it and forthcoming then they should be compassionate...as you should have nothing to hide if you are really using it for medicinal purposes.

If you apply for a job, fail the drug test, and then say that you are MMJ patient...they might frown upon that a bit. Once you are given a MMJ card, the certification center states clearly that IT IS UP TO THE EMPLOYER if they want to hire you or not...so don't think they will just because you're legal. Just be honest, and straight out and you should be OK.

:) Also, my company is based out of the Netherlands :)

That could have some bearing on the matter..

Jobs can fire you or not hire you for whatever they want, they cannot be forced to pay someone they don't need to. It's their discretion to have you as an employee, not your right to have that job. Just keep that in mind. Buy a whizzinator, and clean piss, stop crying about rights and shit. You do have the right to MMJ but also you have all the consequences with it. If a job can't hire me cuz I got a 2.0 one semester, they sure as hell don't have to hire someone who fails a piss test MMJ or not.

Well said. Like anyone's rights stop them from doing whatever they want anyway :) +rep

That is why I said if you are being subjected to a piss test, then at that point you should just come out with it. Just like they would like to know if you are prescribed to any other medications or not.

If you're not being tested...then just keep your mouth shut.

I think the whizzinator might be difficult for female users :) :)

The best thing you can do is get a doctor to write you a script for marinol so when you go to take your test you will asked to write your prescriptions you take, then you can put marinol(or one of the other names for it, whichever one you have), if the tester wants to see the script or bottle youll have it. Marinol is a 100% false positive for marijuana and its a legal prescription.

synthetic urine works great for employment related test as they are un-monitored, I have done it a lot. Fair warning thou, some labs are able to detect it although I have never herd of it happening it michigan, make sure you use fresh stuff you get online and not something that been sitting in a headshop for months. I used QuickFIX for my test about 9 or 10 times at several different clinics, I work for a hospital emergency room. I was really happy with quickfix, it comes quickly almost always overnight for me as its located in Ohio or Illinois or something..... its about 25$ and works like a charm.

Do you realize how much a small script of Marinol even runs

I do, and it is probably more than someone would make at Walmart in a entire month, and most insurance doesn't even cover the bill on that medication in particular. They only prescribed it for my mom after the second time she was diagnosed with cancer, and she had to go to three different doctors to prescribe it for her. It is synthetic THC, which according to a couple legal friends falls under the same guidelines as THC as far as Michigan law is concerned right now. Don't know if they are right or not, but I know these pills run $50-200 a piece.
Imagine filling a whole script only to get a simple job, pretty expensive.

This drug is completely dangerous. It was manufactured by David Watson, head of cannabis research overseas for the u.s guv. This is the guy who is responsible for trying to completely herm out all of the dutch genetics. Read the article in Treating Yourself if you think I'm joking. There have already been 4 deaths attributed to this drug.

I think you are right about the urine. Except the good stuff is not synthetic, it's dried. Works great, ask anyone at probation, or somewhere else that it really matters.

UPDATE
For anyone reading this after June 2011.... here is the update on the ACLU case... I can tell you its not good news for us.
http://www.aclu.org/blog/drug-law-reform/aclu-appeals-medical-marijuana-case-behalf-cancer-stricken-wal-mart-employee
1) thanks for the update
2) Great first post and welcome to RIU
3) I think they may still get resolution in the appeal phase, all we need is a president set. once a judge makes that call we can expect a little breathing room...i hope.

Ohh and it's Friday...and i still ain't got a job

eh' like i said on page one, if the state says i am legal, i shouldn't have to hide it like a criminal..however it isn't the reason i am still unemployed, there is just nothing out there...last week i had three interviews that haven't amounted to crap...
