I've got this 192 LED BLACKLIGHT panel sitting doing nothing, could I use it somehow?

So I have the blacklight panel above, specs below...

Bulb: 192 (UV) LEDs 100,000hrs
Current draw: (peak 12W @ 120V)

Basically this thing stays really cool, and is pure UV light as by LED's (i'd think)

I think I heard that the plants develop trichomes in reaction to UV light? Can someone tell me more about this?

Is there any use for a panel like this on a small grow? It's just sitting there doing nothing right now :P

I'm using 252w (actual wattage) of 2700k CFLs for flowering right now, I'm something like 16 days into flowering

It blankets 20ft x 20ft in blacklight when its straight on, really bright actually

*bump*

Could I use this for MY visible light and not disrupt the plant? I have to water her before I go to bed, and shes still in the dark cycle when I go to bed :P

I'm no expert, but just from what I've read... plants like blue spectrum in veg, and red spectrum in flower. I don't think a black light offers either. But if you already are using CFL's, Hook that bad boy up in addition, just for shits and giggles. You never know, you could be on the verge of botanical genius! Start a grow journal and post us pics!

hell yes!!! get a brass pole and yur set!!!!

lol the thing kicks ass

It does different flashes, my favorite is the faded flash, when your tripping on shrooms its like watching the gods fight in the heavens

fueled by some good consistent beats from ATB its the shiiiit!

And no it does UV light, id be interested in putting it on in the dark cycle maybe, but I don't want to fuck up the cycles, I might be able to hang it during the regular cycle but I have 252w of CFL's in there I don't think it would matter - plus I dont want to risk a big ass LED panel falling on my babies!

I think it may be the wrong spectrum of UV. There is UVA,UVB, and yes, UVC. Plants only need one.

Cannabis responds to UVB. If your panel emits that then it would help with the amount of THC created. It is UVA then it will not help the plant.

And because it causes a reaction in the plant you can assume that it would interfere with the dark cycle.
