Should the US support Israel?

what is the definition of 'left' ideology to you? what is the definition of 'right'?

this is a true question, no trolling, i respect your opinion and like to further discuss this part of the equation.
Years ago I would have said collectivism vs individualism. The thought that what's best for the collective is what's best for the individual vs what's best for the individual is what's best for the collective.

Today I see collectivism from both sides so I really don't know anymore. Based on these boards it's what can you do for me vs leave me alone.

i'm gonna go out on a limb and say the 'what can you do for me' in your mind is the pubster and of course, leave me alone the dem..correct?

anytime ive applied for work they want to know 'what can you do for me', how am i going to bring revenue to their business? and of course, i must have a response or i wouldn't even be considered..they seem very concerned about revenue all the time. why?

The fact that you are bitching about the "audacity" of a business to want to hire people who make them profitable backs up my claims more than yours. I know you'll never see it that way though so we'll just have to agree to disagree here. Don't know why you think businesses should run charities for shitty employees.

Why do you think wanting to make a profit is a bad thing? How many businesses survive operating at a loss?

If you were in a position to hire, would you choose a person who answers the question, "what can you add to our company?" with "well nothing really, I'm just here to get a paycheck", or someone who lays out a plan to actually make themselves an asset?

whoa! did i hit a nerve?

Buddy of mine owns a dry cleaners and does quite well. It's a cash business, he probably makes 250K+ but claims 25K because he can get away with it.

Do you claim every quarter? Not judging, I probably wouldn't either in that position.
considering the CASH money he pockets, his employees should be making $15/hour for the type of work they do around those chemicals, steam and heat..but i'm sure they're making around $8.05/hour (or less if they're illegal)..because he can get away with it..amirite?

not judging, of course!

EDIT: and as a hiring manager, i'd hire the person (and have) who said they are looking for a paycheck, that means they NEED to work.

dia an hÉireann:

One steals shit out of your left pocket and one steals shit out of your right pocket.

Both can run your life for you better than you can and if you don't believe it...tough shit...they have a gun.

lincoln's all time low was 1.64% approval rating.

and how did that work out for him being the 'worst' this country has seen in his time?

same shit, different era.

surprising that john q. didn't make the top ten:

1 Abraham Lincoln Republican 1.64 Abolition of slavery, American Civil War leadership
2 Franklin D. Roosevelt Democrat 2 Leadership of World War II and Great Depression, forming New Deal Coalition
3 George Washington Federalist-leaning non-partisan 2.81 First President, founder of the Republic, established many precedents
4 Thomas Jefferson Democratic-Republican 4.45 Intellectual leadership, Louisiana Purchase, states-rights
5 Theodore Roosevelt Republican 4.82 Charisma, conservationism, trust-busting "Square Deal," Panama Canal
6 Woodrow Wilson Democrat 6.64 World War I leadership; major legislation
7 Harry S. Truman Democrat 7.1 World War II and Cold War leadership
8 Andrew Jackson Democrat 9.18 Overall effectiveness, charisma, nationalism
9 Dwight Eisenhower Republican 10.7 Cold War leadership, economic prosperity
10 James K. Polk Democrat 11 Mexican-American War leadership
11 John Adams Federalist 12.45
Aren't historical facts a pain in the ass, especially if you are a Republican.
I'm sure they wish they would all go away, especially for the times they were in power.
By the way, good job of running the country now with your majority in Congress . You can't get a fucking thing done, because it is one asshole fighting the other asshole, and you are all in the same party. Nice. Keep on showing the country how fucked up the GOP really is, and a Democrat is going to walk into the White House, backwards, if she desires next election.
Wanna bet?

Why anyone on a pot forum bases the success or failure of a congress on how many new laws they pass is beyond me. I'd be fine if they all went home and did absolutely no more damage.

i think it's hysterical, actually, GOP is proving what dems have been saying all along.

what's great about this? everything! nothing now passes without dems help..when you think about conservatives and left have actually been able to work together and get things done without certain individuals..hmmm, now who would that be?

the radical right aka 'tea'.

Just admit you like bigger government and being told what to do and then I'll understand your lust for passing new intrusive laws. Otherwise I think you are just looking for reasons to bitch.

Show me a congress that repeals more laws than they pass and I'll show you my idea of a successful congress.

As much as you hate the GOP, do you really want them to efficiently pass daily laws?

My rebuttal is I want them to pass as few as humanly possible, your rebuttal is they suck for not passing enough.

Blows my mind people on a pot forum take that stance, but then you have made it clear that you think people keeping more of their own money they earned is stealing from you, so there's that.

well that was a spitter..thanks for the laugh!

you keep saying 'for a pot forum'..why?

FTW: under-reporting is the most heinous thing an american business owner can do..not only is the 'system rigged' CONFIRMED it is conspiring against the american people as a whole. the tax code is broke and every CPA left/right will tell you same...tax code benefits OVERWHELMINGLY the american business owner and they still feel the need to STUFF their pockets. this translates to short-changing the american people.. you see, GW again, it's math..when you take the number of businesses and their projected taxable income, government projects which ends with deficit BECAUSE:..'keeping more of their own money'? attitude..PSSSST: it's not their money any longer and to those, who in the past, had that thought with their employees withheld? never paid the government?..they are vicious and will hunt you down..'but that is my money' isn't an excuse or my payroll company never made the deposits..it's your responsibility as a business owner!

We most certainly should NOT be giving them any money much less billions of dollars.
Not because of their stance against Palestine, but because we shouldnt be giving them or any middle-east country a red cent. We should stay the hell out of their business and let them kill each other off and then deal with whomever is left at the end.

It's lost on you why people on a pot forum should be more inclined to less laws than more laws... Oh well

Most heinous act is underpaying taxes... what about child labor? What about price gouging? What about poisoning our drinking water?

An independent owner can end up paying many times the amount of taxes as you even if they make the same amount. That rate you (well not you) pay? Your rate is matched by the company. If that company is the local hardware store that comes directly from the owner, that guy you view as evil rich and want to eat.

In one breath you admit the tax code is broke, in the next you claim someone not paying is robbing from you.

child labor is covered under the Child Labor Laws which were instituted in the first half of the last century because "the business owners" (you know that guy who's stuffing his pockets 'because he can', right?) had no rules or regs..many children were worked to death or maimed:

price gouging? that's all mr. american business owner all the way..give him a situation in which he can leverage his product at whatever X's regular retail and he will. simply put, that's why we have laws against such practices.

discussing payroll tax and payroll tax law is like bringing sand to the beach..i'll always know way more than you on this subject..your comment regarding same made absolutely no sense.

as for your last comment..you really don't know how this country works, do you?:wall:

Since Reagan the wealthy haven't paid their share that's why this country is in decline Trickle down just doesn't work. The rich spend their money in Monte Carlo and Paris not in your local stores
FDR raised taxes on the wealthy and saved America if not for FDR we would all be speaking German right now. oh and one more thing Fuck Israel and all Israel firsters should be removed from office and thrown in jail for treason.

American Jews need to decide where their loyalties lie, with America or with Israel. If they are with Israel then they should move there. If they are with America then they need to make sure to put America's interests before Israels because they are not the same.
