Is this root rot?

I believe root rot are usually darker roots and the middle seems like rot but there's white roots also. I opened the rockwool because clones weren't showing roots. Thanks!

Judging by how purple the stem is, I'd say you need to up your ppm. A healthy dose of nutrients and those roots will grow strong.

It's rooting.......how long has it been in the rockwool?
It's been 22 days in the cube. Not sure if I'm sticking the clones in correctly? From what I read Im supposed to make the hole a little deeper and make sure the stem is in contact with the cube. I do this and the last clones took forever to root. This time I got anxious and opened them all up after about 10 days and saw little roots. After opening it and sealing it back the roots exploded and growth sped up. Any ideas?

Thanks. I'll start giving nutes to two of them. Wasn't sure if I was suppose to feed them or wait until they're in soil.

Because rockwool holds a lot of water. I little bit too much in my opinion. Soggy rockwool = less oxygen. You opened it, which exposed the roots to fresh air.

Your rockwool is too wet. Get a feel for how heavy it is, then squeeze at least half that water out. That's why they "exploded" when you opened them, they dried a bit. Poor things been drowning 22 days!

Also dont add any nutes yet, it will slow down their growth as the roots don't need to go searching for it. But what do i know, maybe im as blind as these others tryin to help ya.

Doubt it! Good luck:)

Also you probably shouldn't pul your cubes apart with fresh cuts in them there is a good chance youll damage the new root system.

Your running soil and using rockwool to root clones? Switch to Root Riot type cubes and use Clone X. In 10 days you'll have roots outside the Riot cubes!
Thanks for the tip! Will try them next time. They look better than rockwool.

I work 8-5 and in a lot of cases I come home to dried up cubes. My room humidity is around 50% and 78-80 degrees. So I usually wet them more and yeah they are soggy. I probably need to devote more time in perfecting the timing and water weight of the cube. I was also thinking the clones could be too snug into the cube? What if I open the cube in the beginning and place the clone inside and tie it back up.. I would imagine it would give a bit more space to breathe because its not so snugged?

When should I add nutes? My 1st Clone ever was successful but took too long. And then I planted it in soil and it didn't grow for awhile. I didn't let the roots get established enough though. Its barely just started taking off right now. As for my current cuttings the roots are poking out if the cubes now but the root tips are brown is this normal?

Mmmm no that's not really normal. They should stay white and fluffy for a few inches at least unless their environment isn't optimal. So maybe your ph is off? Did you soak your cubes overnight? Regardless, if you have roots poking out you can transplant them now.

Give them nutes when they start actually growing. At least a week after they root. Probably 2. In my experience the roots will be much larger by the time they're ready for nutes than feeding right off the bat. I've even stunted newly rooted clones by giving nutes right away.

For quicker rooting look into beneficial bacteria to add to your ph'd water you soak the cubes in. Also 80-84f with lots of humidity gives best results. But for sure, less water in those cubes! Good luck

I didn't soak overnight. There's so many different answers when I was searching what to do.. Its overwhelming lol. But thanks for the tip. I'll plant a couple and see how they go this time around. And add fox farm microbe to my watering..
