Wow no shit! I had 5 alien og's from seed from cali connection also. Each one hermied on me. I'll never buy cali connection seeds again. I've been advised not to go for feminized seeds anymore. To many hermies are produced from the breeding process.

I was two weeks in when I spotted em. I bagged em up and got em outta there! If you have the time keep it and pull all the nanners/balls but even I didn't take that advice. Do some reading up on others experience with cali connection. A lot of their seeds hermaphrodite.

Yup 100%. Need to be careful not to split those sacs open though they are probably to young for pollen. To be safe drape a garbage bag over the whole plant and take it out. Really sucks when you gotta do that but it is what it is. I had to take 5 out all at once.

Word yea I figured it was but wasn't 100% I'll take it out sucks did you ever find a new spot for alien og

If by new spot you mean take it elsewhere to finish out flower then no. I just cut em down. I'd really like to grow it and have 6 more seeds free from cali connection but if I ever give it a go I'll only do from clone.

Fyi ive grown quit a few from dinafem, canuk, dj short, nirvana, HSO, reserva privada, dna, tga subcool and others and never got a herm once so dont think seedbanks sell herms often. Word is that 'feminized' seeds have tendency to herm but not for me, i have good luk so far anyway

True herming has nothing to do with Feminized seed production as the source......It's poor genetic breeding practice.......

Now read this again @shloppyjoe ......True herming has nothing to do with Feminized seed production as the source!

Cali Con has been known for shady breeding.....He does have a cpl of strains that are worth attention and work well...they do tend to be pheno heavy......

S1 or "Feminized" seeds, grow bigger, faster and yield slightly better then straight run seeds......Even High Time mag did a side by side and printed the same results I just gave you....

Now then. The hyperbole you just gave out is exactly how myth grows and spreads......I don't care what you "heard" or was "told" by some other yahoo......Find out the truth before spreading rumor! On that note let me say this too.....Flushing for taste or burn is the biggest myth there is!

If you don't believe me on Fem seeds. Well how about you look up interviews of Matt Riot - Riot seeds and see what he says...Better yet. How about you start reading books on plant genetics and breeding....fucking rumor mill bull shit......only makes thing s harder around here...mumble, mumble, mumble .....

Labor intensive BUT - you can simply cut the BALLS off and look everyday for more.....That way you keep your plant....Do not save anything that comes from it as in seeds or cuttings - ditch that!

That's what I have been doing snipping the balls there's really not that many and there all on the low end of the plant but my question really is at some point will it stop growing balls ???

I can't say for sure.....I'll say mine did stop.....I don't know your strain as it could act different....
I'd say it's worth the try..

Your absolutely right in that rumors shouldn't be spread without science to back it. I can see your a guy that cares very much about principle. The anecdotes against Cali Con are heavy. You say shady breeding and I automatically think I'd rather not deal with the company altogether is all. Not the first I've heard of it.

I recently read this article. Very interesting. http://www.theamericancultivator.com/the-corruption-of-cannabis-through-feminized-seeds/ I'm going to take a look at the interviews with Matt Riot now.

Also would you care to share with us a good book to start with on plant genetics, or better yet cannabis plant genetics? I would also be interested in hearing more about the "flushing myth" in regards to taste. I recall hearing opinions on this in the past but never did any real research on the subject. I've just always flushed at the end because everyone I know does or has recommended it.

I lean towards...polygamodioecious [which fem's can be a byproduct of, but not exclusively]....I have a few strains on slides ready to be shipped to Phylos... polygamo is really what a "hermed" plant should be called imho and is probably the reason for such seed making in "poor" lines or breeding programs....A true hermaphrodite is rare rare, that is female and male parts on the SAME flower structure altogether, not different structures on the same node ^^^[aka polygamo]

I am seriously hoping that I find an unexpressed male....or what some are trying to call a true male....even though it will flower like a girl....wrap around that :peace:

The flushing myth......Oh boy,,,,this is an old and sore spot for many here..

https://www.rollitup.org/t/the-truth-about-flushing.409622/

Why remove nutrition from one of the most important growth periods?
Name ANY other plant used for human consumption that is "flushed".
The FINEST cigar tobaccos are dried and cured with exacting practice. It is a science unto it's self.....NO tobacco is ever "flushed"!

Now apply that to our "tobacco" and you will fine that a proper dry and cure (slowly) will do FAR more then any "flushy myth" ever could......

This myth was founded years (decades) ago and is based on "Logic". Logic don't work for growing!
