Is smell from growing really that strong?

Let me add it can get out of hand overnight, not smell at all then one day stink up the neighborhood by the time you get home from work.

I can't believe we actually needed a thread for this. Point blank pot stinks and you better be prepared for it or you're gonna take a hard ride to the local county.

I ran one grow without a carbon filter and that one plant had the whole house stinking like mild funk. That was one of those, no stink type plants. Yeah, they all stink but some don't bring cops straight to your door. Low stink or flat out skunk it's always best to watch your ass.

Wait, what?

I have 2 special kush plants with buds all over them in my closet and very little smell. I bought the seeds because I read journals and people said it doesn't stink, and the smell is like bubble gum. Both are true

When I grew using Lucas Formula, I found that my plants didn't really stink too much. They were also an odd, lighter looking green than I'm used to.

When I began to experiment with my own ratios of nutrients, I found that my plants could often handle more nutes than I had been giving them.

The sweet, stinky stank has returned once I began to properly feed my plants.

That's my experience with it

Yes it is. I usually do a plant at a time, and before flowering I can smell it all over the place. Plus you get accustomed to the smell living with it daily. New people pick up the weed smell much easier. Do not skimp on two things in this hobby, light and a carbon filter.

It depends on anything , If you had grown it very good and it has some nice genetics you gotta get carbon filter , ona or something. Buy everything needed for it and don't put them on before plant smell is starting to bother you. I used too much nutrients and shit , plant didn't have most of the smell, so no filter was needed.

Don't mean to come off like a smart ass, but why didn't you say what the special kush plants are called so other stealth growers could get some. I know I wouldn't mind checkin them out if there available. Especially if it's some good kush!

I think it's a bad idea to grow in an apartment UNLESS you have a choice carbon filter setup, are legal or just don't give a fuck.
What are you gonna do when chop time comes? You will smell it outside the front door when you start to chop and trim.GL

Mmm when we hit a skunkor smell one we look at each other aand smile. Oh yea smells sooo good.

Good skunk weed sometimes a little on the burnt rubbery or meaty side. Delicious, true road kill skunk, that stuff you triple bag and still can't go in public. Incredibly low ppm sensory threshold

I like shoreline

made a homemade carbon filter this time around.. makes a HUGE difference.. if you can go and buy a small air purifier with a replaceable filter.. rip the filter open, stuff some activated carbon in there-close it up, and turn that shit on.. i did it and it works great.. i also have a sock filled with carbon right in front of the intake fan and a little can of ONA block.. ALSO have a coulpe of air fresheners lol.. duct to grow box is blowing outside window and i still get a little wiff of bud here and there..def works way better than nothing though makes a huge difference..

My limited base knowledge implores all thread readers to use a kick ass carbon filter, proper ventilation, and ona gels. Lets keep this thread going...I'm very curious about how long the smell lingers after the tent is opened while tending to plants. Any other tips are definitely welcome...Thanks guys :leaf:
