Hi all,

This is my first post. It there has been many topics on heat and water stress but I have failed to find anything that looks like my ill seedling.

Day 16 of growth. Was looking good a few days ago but she seems to have gone off the deep-end. What is your diagnosis? The images are the from about 4-5 days apart with the browning one the most current state.

I am using "miracle grow organic choice garden soil". I have a 100w equivalent CFL suspended about 2" away. A CPU fan is directed at the plant is giving some air circulation. Temps have been ~85. Spraying water on the plant every other day.

Thanks for your input

I have added nothing to the soil. Ill look into the ph. Could it be a burn from the lamp? I was thinking of moving my light up to 4".

nute burn. Your mix is too rich for those seedlings. Next time use seed raising mix, peat etc. Your mix is garden soil not seedling soil. Theyre fucked start again bro.

:finger::finger:Don't feed them! Seedlings need nada. If you give them ferts you are in for it... All new plants need very very little until they are todlers.

Ps. People on here should grow some down there!!!! The way heads react you would think you were in sewing class at church or something geeeezzzzz!!!! As I said Grow Some!!!!!:finger::finger::finger::finger: They have this for a choice and they cry if you say anything that sounds the least bit offensive. So wow go figure.. I should just what say fuck you to people???? Is that not what the SITES modican is doing?????

Okay.

How long do you suggest maintaining the humidity dome? Once she grew her first leaves I removed it and transplanted. What do you suggest as an appropriate distance from the lamp for a seedling? I was hearing ~2inches but I guess that my pertain to more mature plants.

How should I attack the nute burn? Should I try to transplant into some seedling soil or is she basically dead?

Thanks for all your awesome feedback

definetly not burn from the light my friend.youll never burn plants with cfl's.id reckon its the ph aswell.one of my previous seedlings had the same problem

you can burn plants with cfls especially if you have no fan blowing to cool them down......a cpu fan wont cool down the bulb unless you aim it on the bulb

if your saying you dont want to follow the rules you agreed to follow when you joined i dont think you'll be a member here much longer. attacking people like that out of nowhere is not ok.

I transplanted in seedling soil with perlite although I did tear some roots. I flushed the soil too to remove as much as of the nutes on the roots as possible. Does my set up look better now? I hope she can pull through. IMG_0828.jpg
This has been a great learning experience, I am germinating a couple more seeds now that I hope can thrive past the seedling stage.
