Is Potassium Sulfate ok in Organics? It is in Terpinator

So I have been trying to go all TLO as of late. I read the book and have been trying to follow all the Rev's advice. A few months ago I was looking for something to increase oils, taste, and smell of my plants. Dude at the hydro store recommended the Terpinator. On the bottle is said "derived from Potassium Sulfate" What is the deal? I looked it up on google and it looks like there is a organic kind and a synthetic kind? Anyone know anything about this stuff in organics?

it's ok, it's similar to langbeinite, sorta..
The reason they use it is most likely for the sulfur content. Sulfur works damn well for terpine development
And don't listen to the dudes at the hydro store.
Try not to go there and buy anything that you didn't intend on buying, they take advantage of stoners and our shitty memory and impulse buying...

In fact... try not to go there... period.

I feel you man, I just went to get some bulbs and I was looking for something similar to Snow Storm Ultra but in a natural form. Thats how I ended up with the Terpinator. Thank You for clearing this up for me.

Yeah I'm starting to figure it out. It took me a while as I was a true synthetic grower for many years. I have tuned the page to a truly organic set up and I am loving the results so far. I seem to get way better smoke with way less work. Sure there is a little work recycling the soil and all but I find brewing compost tea a pleasure and thats about all I give my plants anymore.. water and tea and they love it

think that's probably why people that try organics, end up switching, all those lost terpines and flavors, smells and nuances that organics bring.
They can argue whatever they like, but when it comes to the finished product... well... theres a reason we all play in the dirt..
uh.. well other than the fact that's it's fun to get dirty

It really is the reason. When you taste real organic grown bud it is way different and all the little nuances of the plant begin to reveal themselves.

Potassium Sulphate? Epsom Salts are P sulphate!

Organic Epsom salts are available!
So is Organic dark brown sugar

You can make your own organic terp and trich "booster"......

8TBL organic Epsom
1 1/2 tsp Organic Dark Brown sugar
1 gallon RO water
1 Opaque gallon jug - sanitized

Bring to a full boil 4 cups of the water and ad the other ingr. boil for several min. until dissolved.

Pour the solution into the jug containing the rest of the water and shake well!

Bingo -Organic "Sweet Raw", Terpinator, etc!

It works good! Several others on RIU use it all the time! I do too!

Sorry if I "offend" Grease but, labeled is labeled! (Don't know if this kinda "non traditional" would but...)

how would that possibly offend me brother?
All the love to ya man.
only thing is potassium sulfate and magnesium sulfates are different though man..
But the terpine enhancing part can absolutely be achieved with Epsom.
And you can do that same thing with langbeinite as well

Just found out my old hydro store is now outta business...have not been there in a year & 1/2. Told them I grew organic & they recommended a bloom booster which totally fucked my ph & sent my plants in def con 4. When I told them they tried to say it was nute burn & tried to sell me clearex or some bullshit. Don't listen they profit from your ignorance...grease is correct. My plants now are more resinous and fragrant than when I used to dump sperminator on them and I only add water & the occasional EWC tea. Stay the course TLO is the shit you'll see.

Here's how I see things: Potassium sulfate is the "official" content in the Terpinator, just like potassium hydroxide for Snow Storm Ultra. I think it's for legal matters and labeling.

However, there's some "secret ingredient" going on with each of these additives. It's been known that the secret ingredient in Snow Storm Ultra is triacontanol, a growth stimulant. People worrying about labels and politics prefer to use the term "alfalfa extract". I have some and I plan to use it on my non-OMRI "organic" grow, along with lactobacillus inoculation and chitinase.

It's a wild guess, but I suspect that one of the secret ingredients in Terpinator is either triacontanol or chitinase.

Thanks Richard, I am excited to see the results of my current grow. I got the Rev's book and have been through it a few times but it is one of those books where I catch something new with every read. I am growing a few Mephisto auto-flowering plants right now and they seem to be coming along very well right now. I love the simplicity of it too. At first it was a lot to wrap my brain around but little by little and grow by grow I am getting it. And I have not dialed it in perfectly yet but my bud seems to way better tasting and smelling than before.

The Revs TLO book is a great reference. I go back for the tea recipes all the time. I find if you use larger containers you don't need to layer as much as he suggests plus I have switched back to HPS over MH in flowering because while it may be true that plants absorb nutrients more efficiently under a bluer spectrum the HPS gives you bigger flowers hands down. These are the only 2 areas in which I deviate from the revs methods. It takes a few harvests & recycles but in time your mix will get better & better with each run....nothing compares to the quality buds I get from TLO.

Lol, everytime I've ever gone into the hydro shop and looked at their plants and setups, I just laugh and SMH. They all look like shit. And these are the fuck jobs pitching us on nutrients and methods...

These fuckers tried to give me once a gallon of "complimentary" vortex brewed tea. I took it, smiled, left, and on the way home I took a wiff. Smelled sour and spoiled. Shit got tossed out, there's no fucking way I'm giving my plants that poison. Why?, so I can return with a problem and buy some miracle bottle? I fucking hate growshops just as much as seed banks.

I am with you on the HPS, I do use a MH until a couple weeks after flowering begins, but then switch to HPS and I also hang a Feliz 125watt CFL the blue spectrum version, I think it is like 6500k. I like that my plants can get a little more blue spectrum in there, maybe help with trich production. I also have seen some of these pics that the Rev has of a 4' tall plant growing in like a 6'' container. I don't roll like that either. I use Roots Organic fabric pots(I forget what they call them, stoned right now) and they say that they are 5 gallon but they are not actually that big but they work well for my set up. I also use some 3 gallon grow bags just to fill in the space between my pots. I am of the belief that the more room the roots have to grow the stronger and potentially, bigger the plants will be.

I mix my 600w HPS with 2 small LEDs which work well as side lighting; get super dense buds even on the bottom but I'd love to upgrade to all LED some day.
The rev says in skunk mag he uses these tiny ass self watering pots because he is somewhat disabled & like to keep very small untrained plants but I prefer 10 or 7g fabric pots mid veg through to harvest & LST the hell out of them...yep big root big froots
