As a semi distant observer. (Man living in iceland, a place sometimes called little america, though much policy is european.)

Obama seems the same as any other american president.

Meaning he says this and that, but his actions mostly follow in the tradition of past presidents actions.



The only difference about him is obama care. Something that anyone living in a country with social health care, thinks is a good thing.
We have all heard the horror stories from america, that 65% of bankruptcies happen because of insurance not having been enough or simply not having enough money from the start.

For being sick..

Heard of people having to choose which finger they wanted reattached when they had an accident. Simply because they could not afford the "service."


It is one of a few reasons why i would not want to live in the u.s.


Due to this, i am afraid that im going to have to conclude, that the reasons obama is so much bitched about, is because of racism. (And racism is probably one of the dumber things i know of.)

And due to that, i am forced to conclude, that the reason for so much bitching, is

Stupidity.

Obama is just another politician, the only remarkable thing about him is that he is the first non pink president of the u.s.
That and that he is trying to get people better healthcare.

Othervise he´s just another piece of shit in power.

My goal was to match your rhetoric and to identify the inconsistencies in your claims. The skew in the black vote for Obama was greater than the skew in the white vote against Obama, thus it would seem the black vote was "more racist" than the white vote. That seems to be the logical conclusion of your own arguments, and yet you refused to make it. I sought to expose your hypocrisy in making claims about racism and I succeeded.

Underscoring that point, you repeated your claim that Obama's success in 9 of the 10 whitest states in the union propelled him to the nomination even though I had already observed that the whitest states in the union were some of the least populous and least delegate rich, making your claim statistically impossible. Sweeping the whitest states was worth far fewer popular votes and delegates than sweeping the blackest states.

When someone mentions "Star Wars" or suggests that Reagan already had Alzheimer's while he was president, in response to a simple policy disagreement, is it racist? When someone says something disparaging about Bill Clinton getting blowjobs during a simply policy disagreement, is it racist? When someone says thousands of Americans died for Halliburton's profits in Iraq, is it racist?

Asking if you posted a comment from your "Obamaphone" is disparaging the existence of a government program to provide free cell phones to people and Obama's willingness to shower the money of taxpayers on those people, not a commentary on Obama's race, just as every other nasty thing said about any past president had nothing to do with race.

So they reward said companies by making the American people purchase one of their plans? good call...

I bet wall street saw the bailouts as punishment for all their risk taking...

I was talking about personal bankruptcies, not business. I kinda doubt wall street has problems with money towards healthcare for themselves.

Obama's name got attached to it because he was president, not because of his race. Hillary Clinton's name got attached to "Hillarycare" because she was in charge of it, not because of her race. This kind of thing happens constantly. Suggesting that it's about race ignores every disparaging nickname for a person or a program that was leveled at any other president.

"Those people" = the people with government-subsidized cell phones referred to earlier in the sentence. There is no commentary whatsoever about race.

You're handing me a perfect example. Because Bush was the president when the tax cuts were first signed into law, his name will forever be connected with the specific tax cuts he made, even though they were supposed to sunset after 10 years. When people are critical of those specific tax policies, they disparage them as the "Bush tax cuts" even though Obama extended many of those cuts. It happens all this time in this very forum! How is that any different from someone disparagingly referring to "Obamaphones?" It isn't.

Again, disparagingly referring to the "Bush tax cuts" that Obama signed back into current law doesn't make much sense either. Yet people do it and it has nothing to do with race.

Why does everyone think bankruptcy is such a bad thing? Its not like you lose your stuff or anything.

If you are going bankrupt because you can't pay your medical bills, its because you haven't worked out a payment program with the administration. They would be way more willing to get SOMETHING from you than have you declare bankruptcy and they get little to nothing. I think my mother payed $7 a month to the hospital for 12 years to pay for my birth.
