is live resin oil just fresh frozen?

So i saw some live resin wax this weekend, when i asked about i got the answer its the newest craze. They chop the plant and immediately freeze then extract. So is this just a new fancy way of saying fresh frozen or am i missing something?

Yep, that is my understanding.

Figured it was just a sales pitch name. Live resin wax sounds special. In my opinion it tasted way better then normal but the effects were slighty less then regular wax i had from same strain

Yes diabolic they pick plant, cut it into 1 inch pieces then immediately freeze them. Then extract once froze.

Yup thats just fresh frozen. Bubbleman does this as well when making his hash.

I do that for bub hash because I use dry ice...but for bho I would recommend drying it then freezing it due to the condensation from the moist buds

no, not dumb on your part at all, I try everything once or twice.

I think their technique is dumb, I have never been a fan of fresh frozen material, now they are marketing it as such. I always let mine get bone dry, but I do not let it sit out to long, I wait about 5 to 8 days on trim becuase mine usually sits in a kiddy pool till its dry then I vac seal it and put in freezer till it is time to blast. For flower I wait 7 to 14 days till it is bone dry then vac seal it and put in freezer till I am ready to blast, i have gotten bud from people that was still kinda fresh and I put that on a piece of cardboard in my cabinets and let it get bone dry then vac seal and freeze.

Also I have noticed if you bag up material even vac seal material and you do not put it in the freezer it degrades the material or will give you darker oil and that old weed smell, so I advocate to every one put your material in the freezer until you are ready to work with it, and I highly recommend vac sealing it so that you do not get the moister from the condensation when you pull it out.

When I am getting ready to blast I pull the bags out and let them get to room temp to avoid the moister associated with the cold. Then I pack the tube then they go into the deep freezer with the dry ice and get really cold, let them sit for 24 hours then I blast.

since I'm a big fan of butane, the only really huge difference I see is this way freezes it..


with charas, its alive, then rubbed and stored on warm palms for hours + before gathered to smoke..

with frozen fresh, frozen alive.. When do we kill it? When we freeze it??

I have made my own charas, full melt.... I took a piece of glass and when I was harvesting I would take some of the nugs and big fan leaves that had sugar on them and pressed it on the glass. I ended up with enough for 2 dabs and its was mighty tasty, I did pic through it with tweezers to get the red hairs out

Frozen trims are not fresh and will never be fresh again and Charas is the epithet of fresh resin so NO it is not quite the same.

how does the freezer help?? within 10 seconds of that butane hitting it, the initial temp no longer matters as the bud/trim is now the same temp as the butane that was just blasted through it. isnt it? I find that with my room temp material, once blasted with butane, turns ice cold, almost instantly!!! so whats the freezer doing? especially if you freeze the butane, I cant see why freezing the material would help the BHO process. or is freezing just to store the buds for long times?

just the bud, and I have done side by side comparisons, it locks up all the green and i feel it locks up some of the waxes fats and lipids
but i know for a fact it locks up the chlorophyll, I grind all my stuff to dust and with out the freezer I get green oil, and i go a step further then the freezer I pack it with dry ice which is -75 to -100 degrees C.

why not freeze the butane??? I cant stand spraying with warm, gaseous butane evaporating as I spray.. .fuck that!!! frozen butane is a pure liquid, no fumes/evaporation until I set into the hot water dish and go inside.

so doesnt the frozen bud become the same temp as your warm butane after about 10 seconds??

I just dont see how the butane doesnt fuck with the temp within 5 seconds.

And from my experience at -25 it pulls less waxes / lipids, only a small drop when winterized.
