is live resin oil just fresh frozen?

Ive done a large amount of fresh frozen runs an alot of dry runs. Only major differences ive found are that dry bud takes up alot less space than wet. You end up waisting aton of butane on fresh frozen. But, theres about 70% less plant fat when you run fresh. When we dewax fresh frozen. Then dry bud from the same exact plant, the dry bud has around 70% more extra shit. I do not know why, i just know the results.

Pinks and Top Shelf extracts are the 2 biggest extract companies, one uses a cryogenic freezer and the other uses dry ice.
also when your freeze your butane it comes out of the can slower

I chopped one of my outdoor plants yesterday... and just for the hell of it hacked a ton of nugs and bottom larf. Then put it in the freezer overnight.
today i pulled some out of the freezer and packed a tube very lightly with the frozen buds. maybe 1/2 full
the wax that came out is pure white. ill get a few good pictures up. its crazy. tastes exactly like what the plant smelled like yesterday. i still have the rest of the plant hanging and a bit more in the freezer too.

Here's the white. i guess there is still a ton of plant waxes in it.

So you didn't purge it..? If you don't have a vac, I would look into winterizing or using water purge at a temp of 120-140 and having the extract purge that way.

On a side note, has anyone seen a ppm chart of a extract winterized without heat aka, evap with a fan? Just wondering if anyone had that tested.

Got sun being no more than 78* outside chewberto. I'm not a scientist just trying a few new things.
Iv blasted my dry trim before and never got results like this. The taste is amazing.

It tastes good because it's never reached a temp to destroy the terpenes. Ultimately that is the goal "terpene preservation", however we need to remove residuals to make a safe product! If you don't Have a way to vacuum purge, then I recommend a second solvent like ethanol to remove the residual butane "winterization" it also gives you an opportunity to remove waxes.

I would like to see then numbers myself. I'm sure terps are somewhat compromised and % lower, but with the residuals it would be nice to know where they stand'

I tried blowing fresh frozen material for the first time 2 months ago. Everybody that tried it loved it so much better than dried frozen due to taste. I've done a bunch since and now I can't keep the GF away from it because it's so tasty. I personally didn't notice it being a weaker end product and would be hard to truly judge unless blown both ways with the same exact plant.

Here's a pic of the fresh nug I blasted. It's cometely soggy and wet. I froze it after defanning and trimming all the bottom larf I don't feel like nitpicking thru then blasted t the next day.

Exactly. I am sure some terps are lost and such but I really would like to know where residuals stand as well. I would help fund some of the payments if possible. So many people do this method (along with qwISO, I'd like to see the residuals) on that because not to many people heat that either.

You should also compare fresh with frozen trims as well as fresh and cured. It would be interesting to know what freezing exactly does to the resin and the wax membranes

Jimmer. I'll be doing exactly that. I have some hanging to dry right now. And still have fresh wet in the freezer. To do a comparison run.

I DEFINITELY FEEL LIKE ITS NOT AS POTENT. But tastes awesome!!!!!! Is it in my head?
