There getting there the definition of those pictures is not fine enough to really see the trichomes, they can sometime's be seen with the naked eye but only if you have good eyesight and good lighting, even then sometimes its hard to judge. Read up on trichomes and the stages that trichomes go thru and what the different stages produce for a high then maybe you will be able to discern for yourself what kind of high you want and when is the right time to harvest for that high.

It's hard to tell by the pictures. I use a digital microscope to check the trics for cloudy and amber ones. When the are cloudy they are ready. If you want a heavier stone wait until you get 10-20% amber. Looking with some sort of magnification is the only real way to know. Once you figure it out then you can grow and harvest the same strains without looking in a microscope.

Yeah i use electric microscope, good for taking pictures too. And only 40$-50$ i shouldn't say only, but for a digital microscope

nope,,,not done,,,,,guess? 2 weeks +.....Pic 4 shows that plainly......you want to run like 2 more weeks then seed companies tell you.....puts you much closer to the plants true potential.

/\ The rest of your post was good... This here, you have just "Parroted" an old stoner myth....
You never want Amber/Tea colored Tric's They are degraded... no or way less THC....
Do not believe any thing else, it's incorrect....
I just read it over at "Growing Weed Easy" it just is not true....
---------------------------

OP:
When done...other things to check besides Tric's....
White hairs will stop popping out of bud...[still see white hairs]
Most hairs will recede back into bud, [I see lots of hairs on your plant]
Calyxes will swell way up [the size of a double sized seed]
When hairs are gone, check for tric's....
Healthy Plant, will make clear Tric's until the day of harvest....
You want to shoot for 80-90% milky... 5% clear/5% or less Amber/Tea colored

Also, Tric's will continue to turn colors after you harvest [clear to milky, milky some to amber]...

I hope this clears up some confusion....

You can't possibly tell if the plant really has two more weeks left. I've had strains that had 20% amber trichs with all of their hairs still white as snow. For all you know this plant could already be past the point of being done. To the OP: get a pocket microscope at radioshack for 10 bucks. You cant accurately tell when a plant is done without one.

Never thaught that was possible b/c the pistils get pollen and then they recede to swell up the calyxses with imagenary seeds if they don't get pollenated atleast that's what this websites stickys says but yea get scope just make sure u kno how to use it

Thanks for all the info. Im in canada so I guess the source would carry it cause we dont have radio shack. I think a lot of them are milky white but I need a microscope to tell.

i use what i like to call the trifecta. imo, using the trifecta, your plant is not done.

1. buds have stopped swelling/getting noticeably bigger
2. hairs are almost all brown
3. increase in amber trichomes

works for me! i'd say you have about a week left, maybe a lil more.

Not sure of the type. I got tgese seeds from a friend had them for years I wanted to get some experience before I pay for the seeds myself

If everyone threw away their magnifiers and used this method they would probably get a much better smoke. There was a post on here by superzeus or similar, his ideas definitely work, if you follow his principals on when to harvest you will get better bud. Sorry cannot find his post.

Again thanks for all the info. Just another quick question. How do u know when its time to flush the plant? Is it just an educated guess when u think the Tric's are almost all milky or is that too late

It is abso - f'in - lutly NOT DONE! Pic 4 plainly shows that!......and tric's, while part of the show, do not 100% show harvest time is here......

READ THE POSTING ABOVE!!!

As for your 20% and white haired buds.....To bad you cut it to tric's showing.....You have NO idea what you missed.
MANY breeds can do that % thing and still can be run longer to more of a quality outcome.......

I say ZEUS is correct!

There is nothing wrong per say with Zuses' post above link, except if you grow using correct N until end, not always will your plant turn yellow...
When leaf tips, yellow, you have burnt tric's, not amber tric's...
You do not want burnt, or amber... Because that color equals degraded THC... You want a plant that is not taken too soon, but never past it's prime...
Sometimes amber and burnt tips happen... that is not what you want...but it happens anyway...
Strains, will act, and be different...
Good Luck with the harvest....
