Is a grow worthwhile for personal use

No matter what is going on in life, the plants are always there gently dancing in the fan breeze. Growing your own is one of the most rewarding experiences around. Especially when one of your buddies gets fried off 3 tokes of your sparkling green.

Black Friday deals are coming. I got 2 4x8's 4 lights for each tent and fans with carbon filters last year for $700. Pick your crap on amazon and save it for later, they will message you when that item goes on sale. Seriously I saved like $1500 upgrading my whole world. All I did was save the "donations" I received for my samples.

Start with your 2x4. We all know how this works out. I'll be reading your second grow journal when that 2x4 becomes your veg tent and you've taken over the spare bedroom. Friends and family will be making special trips for your red eyed pot pourri scented hospitality.

What's round on both sides and high in the middle? oHIo

Growing your own is so satisfying when finished. Yeah you will have ups and downs and even lose a plant here and there, but nothing beats smoking your own stuff. I worked at a dispensary for almost year and barely bought because I preferred my stuff, and you can’t see the product in Canadian shops. Most weed I found came in too dry most of the time, and the good ones were too expensive (even with small discount) Funk Master was the strongest weed we had at a consistent +30% THC, but $65Cnd for 3.5g Plus I‘m becoming a fan of landrace Sativas and they barely appear in shops because they take too long to grow for most companies. (or so it seems) So invest in the equipment and learn as you grow

I read similar stories a lot. Dispensaries don’t give you many options. I used to think I would probably stop growing if my state ever went legal, but I’m beginning to have my doubts about that.

I'm depressed ... and suffering from information overload.

Depressed cause I've decided to try to grow and that'll mean waiting to get good and stoned that much longer . It's not the end of the world or anything it's just gonna be tough watching and waiting while sober .....
Peruse at your leisure. I still utilize this page from time to time.

I don’t know. I was always an indifferent gardener till i started growing something I truly loved.
Same here. Couldn't keep a house plant alive to save my own life. Was always helping mom in the huge garden we had as a kid and thought of it more as a chore and not something fun to do. Then I grew my first buds in pails of dry sheep shit and farm dirt back in '78 and a new love blossomed in my soul.

:peace:

When I say 2.5 hours to Michigan that's getting on the highway and non stop 75 mph ... I'm old enough there's at least 1 stop to piss another to stretch the bones and likely another for coffee.
The reality is its pretty going to be an all day adventure if I was ever to make the drive ... if I was 25 I probably wouldn't think twice about it and go .

Do a 2 for 1. Road trip to Michigan. Hit dispo and pick up your supply while you are pocking up marketplace deals to set up your first grow. The prices of used equipment up there is unreal. You could probably save enough on equipment to cover your cost of flower to get you through.

That does help make it more attractive , there and back with minimal interference is the very outside of my endurance for a road trip ... tossing in typical market place morons and it is just beyond what I can handle in a single day .

Growing weed is like getting high in a different way. I love it. It's like I've created my own laboratory and I get to push buttons and pull switches and do calculations and measurements. I can interact with other growers in a kind of "continuing education" program! ;) It's great!

Yes, the costs can add up. But at the end of the day, you will not only have the weed to smoke (which will run out, eventually)....but you will also have the knowledge to grow it that you didn't have before. And once you have it, you won't ever lose it.

Growing weed CAN be a "gateway drug" though...It can lead you into growing other things! -tomatoes! potatoes! You might become a gardening junky! ;)

Both , don't forget raising steam .

Here's another aspect of my dilemma , I live on a fairly tight budget . Buying once it's legal gets me smoking again right away .
Growing still means waiting ....

Even at my advanced age waiting still sucks .
Shit man , your in the wrong section, go to the noobie section. Those fuckers can show you how to grow a pound with just one 23w cfl from bag weed seeds in a dixie cup. They can have you growing buds right outta da bag before the seeds even spout.

P.s. don’t trust everything you read on a weed site. Now rummage through the trash and find that damn Dixie cup.

Don't wait for the bag. Go straight to the fruit.

Run up to Michigan and grow your own. I have family there, so I usually hit the dispensary when I'm there, even though I don't have to. You can get two oz of decent weed for $100. I like getting 8 prepackaged eights for $100. Be cool with the budtender. They'll do you right!
