the issue is that i cant be home every day. i love the frozen bottle trick.lol.

i have to think things threw a little. i am going to get a chiller by next summer.

the thing i have to think about is, since i am testing these new lights not sure if i want to change a bunch of things? new lights, geo pots, now hydro. thinking maybe i should stick to my roots and use what ive been using for a while. i still have SunShine#4 eft and a ton of organic additives that will go bad if i run hydro. so thinking of using everything up on this run then next run build my hydro setup and by then it will be cooler.. i just hate to waste all that stuff ive bought and cant use in hydro. but who know i just might.lol.. but it would be good to keep it simple and focus on this grow and the lights then after that test out hydro. hate to mess something up and its the hydro and the lights take the blame
ya know man, i didn't think about the "testing" of the lights aspect, i sometimes forget that you are doing that!! haha bt with that said and all the nutes and soil you already have i would wait on the hydro. f you can't be home everyday, it might be something you want to wait on till you have some time to get it running smoothly. It's not fair to the testing of the lights though like you said.

thats what i was thinking. Mike was all for it and said he dosent care, but i think i should K.I.S.S. this grow. i want to give a fair test and its no big deal using the airpots if anything should help with better roots and keeping things cooler for me, but in the winter time i am coming back and going full force.. the summer grow is more of a mess around thing with not expecting allot but trying to pull off a grow in 100F*. i will get it!!! i want to try one more time this year and get going ASAP! but i mise well get my moneys worth on stuff ive bought and use it up because shit isn't cheap and organics are a no no with hydro.

no worries guys i still have something cool to do with my SS#4 medium and it will be a drip system when i am gone but it will be bottom fed for a wick feeding, very simple and efftive. gone with my proven mix that i did use this time actually i did even use SS#4 this grow its a different brand. but 50/50 SS#4/perlite. i am also considering going with the GH flora nutes like i did with my large 600w yield grow and keep it with what i do know and maybe test dyna gro next time? IDK i really like the dyna gro though.lol

thats wsnt my post it was a copy.

i wouldnt never use organic in hydro, only soil or none water brewing medium. organics and hydro are not a good combo with true organics
Even in a soil-less?
Such as coconut coir and perlite?
And im not using a system so there is no chance of any clogged lines or anything of that matter.
My ladies are hand watered :)

its fine in that just nothing like DWC or standing water, brings out the bad guys and will cause issues with roots.
coco and peat moss are great for organics and make the micro life thrive

This is probably a dumb question but are those pots reusable?
I dont know if you have heard of Cutting Edge Solutions but from what i have heard they seem legit and their prices are the shit! haha i know you just got through saying that you want to stick to what you know, but i thought those nutes might be worth looking into.

ya you can resuse them, hose them out, let pots dry wipe off any leftover dirt and throw in washer.

ive heard of them but never looked into them. ill check it out, but like what i use its the most complete nute you can get.

I have made a payment for 2 x 290's, but not heard from mike since. Any idea on how long delivery takes.
not sure it can take a while from what ive heard, long list. but that might not be the case. its best to call him then e-mail. i heard he made the new lights with the glass out, i use to know my out all the time and loved it but havent done it with the new ones yet. but i think i read that he is now taking the glass out?

Joey, I also purchased a panel last week and it has not shipped yet. and Mike has not responded to an email that i sent over a week ago. maybe he is on vacation or just extremely busy.... it still would be nice to get a quick reply. i know as a business owner myself, when someone sends me an email, i at least respond to it. even if i don't have the answer right away, i send something! it's bad practice to let people hanging like that...

Ah shit Irish, sucks that the heat was messing with your plants so much.

Looking foward to your next project. If you get yields like your 600 watt grow I'm going for those nutes ;)

Hey Irish long time thread follower first time poster in yours. I love the work you've done and the non biased info you've brought to the LED community. You've accomplished a lot of great grows and provided us all here at RIU valuable information. I was wondering if you'd ever done a Scrog grow with your LED's and what that might turn out?? I've been doing a lot of looking into hydro and I'm not sure I've seen anyone run a 24/0 drip. Maybe a 5 on and 15 off but I've yet to see 24/0. If you've seen a grow like that would you mind pointing me in the direction? Thanks. Anyways... speaking of hydro, how do you feel about a DWC or RDWC system? I've seen some massive root development in grows like that. I even saw a gentleman use a supersonic device in his rez water to create a fog of nutrient mist for the tiny fibrous roots closest to the base of the plant. It was some pretty intense stuff. I'll shoot you a link if you're interested. Also, I had seen where you posted about doing a few CFL grows yourself. Do you have any ideas of what your gpw was on those grows?? I was looking into doing one or saving for the 2011 spectra 290. Thanks in advance!
