Ionic vs General Hydroponics

I've used Ionic for one grow only because the grow shop recommended it. They have a lot of root stimulaters, growth stimulaters etc. I was talking to a new grow shop and they guy said "Yeah, thats cuz they need them" and recommended General Hydroponics. Has anyone done a somewhat empirical side by side test of these? Please noone that hasn't used both, but I'd like to hear from peeps that have used both at the same time on the same strain and phenotype, preferably clones off of the same mother.

I havent used Ionic, But have used GH for years with great success. I did do a side by side with GH flora series for 5x5 section of my room, on the other side I used GH flora w/ kabloom added, and a couple other additives.
There was no noticible difference in yield or taste. So ever since i have used GH flora series soley with great results.

ak.fortyseven I've heard from so many die hard GH fans. Thanks for you input on additives though, that is a big deal to me since they cost so much more than the nutes them selves. I'll take that into consideration.
Intruder, I may be wrong but I think the only diff between soil and hydro Ionic is what ph it turns the water. (I checked at the hydro shop and he listed off a couple other diff.)

ok, I now have both GH and Ionic and will be running a Lucas formula and a somewhat regular formula for the Ionic. I will have 10 RockBuds and 5 Big Buds and will be splitting it up fairly seperately. I have started germing the seeds in 1/2 drop of clonex in an 8 oz water glass ph'ed with an air stone in it. I have each strain in a diff. glass but mixed the solution together then split it up. I will up date this with all my info. weekly. Please comment if you are interested.
