Finally found a doctor who understands my situation/needs and she has agreed to work with me on my healing journey. I know what strains work for me, now it's a matter of hoping that my LP grows a comparable strain/phenotype.
Not sure where you're located - but I just went to a Compassion Club and they had a WAY better selection than my LP, and better quality - in my opinion.

If your doctor is on board, and there's one in your area, they may have what your looking for.

I was prescribed strong anti depressants. I took one look at the list of potential side effects and binned them. Who would be that fucking stupid to take something with that kind of disclaimer? I went with weed, only side effect of that was the damage to my bank account.

It almost seems mandatory that anything a doctor prescribes you rewuires a bag if drugs just to counteract the side effects of withdrawal form said drug, and then another bag of drugs for that bag, and so on.

Doctors can go fuck themselves. Never once taken the prescriptions I've been given, be it anti biotic or otherwise, and shock horror, I'm alive and well. My experience makes it rather amusing given I date an uberhypochondriac.

A whole list of ssri shit besides the paxil.
Some made my dick floppy and that dont help depression.

Currently
lexapro
klonapin
depakote.

I wake up feeling decent drink some coffee feeling better.
vape my ecig start my gardening tasks.
I can go to town without it being an anxiety ride that leads to violent outbursts.
My sleeping is becoming semi regular.

I was taking fast acting benzos and got addicted.
The longer lasting klonopin is less of a roller coaster ride so it
Dont trigger my my urge to drink a bottle of liquid ativan.

I also do not think people are conspiring against me. Even if they are.

My big fear was these meds would change the part of me i like.
However they just make me a better me.

It took years to get the correct combo.

Not perfect but no ones life is.

Most frusterating part is weaning on and off several combos until you get it.
All the appts ect.
but when you can no longer live in missery you have 2 options.

Suicidally depressed people...that's who.

I'm not saying I'd do it again, they'd have to fucking force me to go back on SSRI's.

But I would have taken anything at the time to get out of bed...

I started using this Clonidine and it is sucking the life right out of me. About an hour after I take it, I cannot keep my eyes open. Then I drag my ass around. I don't like it but I guess it's better than the withdrawal symptoms every 6-8hrs.

If one really wants to know what goes on 'behind the curtain' there are a couple great books out in the 'wilds' "Confessions of a Rx Drug Pusher" is one." There are also some youtube clips of Gwen Olsen that one may find enlightening. Another great book is Robert Whitaker's book "Anatomy of an Epidemic."

Agreed, sometimes there are no other options available or it appears so anyway, especially in times of crisis. Been there myself.

One idea that keeps crossing consciousness, we live in a world that 'values' efficiency/production not concern for our sisters and brothers. If you are 'producing' you are of value. It's a societal value that has been ingrained into our subconscious. That is why mental illness carried/carries such a stigma. If one is 'ill' and needs to spend some time healing they are not productive or valuable goes the reasoning, hence the shame. Medications allow the individual to get back to the 'widget factory' so they can again become 'productive'. A great example of North American (N.A.) ideology and the counter parallelism can be drawn from Michael Moore's 'Sicko' where he interviews the guy in France about his healing process. Another great book that points to the flaw in our N.A. philosophy is Vanier's 'Becoming Human'.

Too bad the intro had to bring in the religious angle, I think the 'plug' for religion was just too gratuitous. Not Vanier's style, his is just truth.

Am I the only "sharer" on here....hahaha....I'm ok with that. I do like to share...

Green medicine VS 'white' medicine(dope)

Western medicine treats 'symptoms' not causes of illness
Drs are pill pushers for the pharmaceutical corporations

The word 'dis' ease......

In the western world you have to remember they 'practice' medicine....not 'perform' it....or treat the cause of the 'dis'-ease...

Just the symptoms......thats why every time you go to a dr they say "how are the pills working?"---feeling 'better?'

--if not.....they switch pills and say "come back in two weeks"

My dad was on 33pills a day .....he was a walking zombie from the side effects.....he was 'alive' but @what quality?

I changed his diapers till he died in jan this year

Mom is retired from U of M hospital....
-very high up in administration.....2nd from the top

Retired for about 18yrs now.....'believes' in western medicine

She is on 27pills a day now-

...diagnosed with some type lymphoma...

--her insurance from uofm is so good they just keep running testing procedures on her now(to rack up $imo) and wont narrow down the exact type....over a month now of hospital visits every other day....and MORE pills

My wife died from breast cancer in '12--she was diagnosed terminal after two years

Once we went to the oncologist the first time she decided to say fuck poisoning herself with radiation for a 50% chance to live 10 years longer.....
-the oncology statistics said a person with 'NO' treatment had a 40% chance of living an extra 10yrs longer......

She believed in enjoying every moment in your life since when we pass....(i believe also) we take ALL those moments with us and sleep in them....
-she enjoyed all of hers right to the end

Now you tell me....
-western medicine is overated

-the 'medical-cartels' want everyone on a prescription medicine plan.....

Thousands per month....for everyone signed up

Theres like 3-4 walgreens/cvs/rite aid pharmacies on every corner in every suburb in the detroit metropolitan area

Why would you think they dont want people to find 'free' ""cures"" to their 'DIS' eases......$$$$$

they deliberatly quash science in regards to cannabis--
Have been for many many years---

the 'real' question is ...."what DOESNT cannabis cure"----

Top 5 Mental Conditions Treated With Marijuana

Sufferers of many different types of ailments have found relief with the use of medical marijuana, but most particularly those afflicted with mental conditions. When paired with a good psychiatrist, with an accredited psychology degree, medical marijuana is a very effective and natural remedy. Below you will find the top five mental conditions which have proven to be treatable with medical marijuana.

1. Insomnia
Those suffering from insomnia should consider ingesting medical marijuana. A cookie or brownie can be taken before bed with a glass of milk, and should ensure good sleep throughout the night. Users should be aware that the effects of medical marijuana will not be felt for up to an hour. Medical marijuana is a desirable alternative to addictive drugs such as Xanax, and is not habit forming. Many users report feeling clear-minded and relaxed, sleeping through the night, and having more pleasant dreams.

2. Migraines
Migraines can also be treated with medical marijuana, sometimes better than actual migraine medication. When consumed or smoked, retrograde inhibition will help to slow the rate of neurotransmitters in the brain. This is wonderful news for people who suffer from migraines—all too often, these horrific headaches are due to an overload of neural stimulation. Retrograde inhibition also relieves the pain and other symptoms which attend a full-blown migraine, including nausea and sensitivity to lights. Additionally, migraine medication has been flagged for dangerous side effects, including increased blood pressure. Migraine medication can also be rather debilitating to take, as it makes the user feel very tired and only want to sleep. Medical marijuana can make some users feel slightly sleepy but the doze can be adjusted so that the migraine sufferer will still experience relief from pain, nausea, and hyper-sensitivity, while not becoming as drowsy as they would with the alternative.

3. Anxiety
Mild anxiety is sometimes a side-effect for users, but some people experience mood-elevating effects, as well as a relaxing experience, allowing anxiety sufferers to have a normal life. Medical marijuana can also cause a desirable “slowing” down of thought processes, which can help to break up some of the upsetting cyclical thought patterns which plague anxiety sufferers.

4. Depression
Those who use marijuana once or more weekly have long reported fewer episodes of depression than the rest of the populace, but medical marijuana can also be smoked or ingested to elevate the mood and relieve those who specifically suffer from depression. As in anxiety sufferers, the lasting effects of medical marijuana help to break characteristic unproductive or negative thought cycles which so often spiral out of control for the sufferer until they hit “rock bottom.” Marijuana is not a miracle cure for depression or anxiety – it would not be healthy to mask the root problem instead of treating it – however, it can help one to live a happier, more fulfilling life while the patient works with a therapist to treat the root of their symptoms.

5. Bipolar Disorder
The friends and family of those with Bipolar Disorder will welcome this news as much as the sufferer – medical marijuana can significantly calm the mood swings exhibited by those with Bipolar Disorder. Cannabis works as a mood stabilizer for sufferers. Lithium, which has traditionally been diagnosed for sufferers, takes several weeks to begin working and also causes damage to the heart, kidneys, and thyroid gland. Often sufferers do not like to take their lithium, as it reins their emotions in to an unpleasant, deadening degree, an unpleasant effect not experienced by those who use marijuana instead. The marijuana smokers report feeling a pleasant effect long after the “high” itself has dissipated – this is the mood stabilizing effect of the drug.

In conclusion, medical marijuana should be of note to all those who are suffering from mental disorders, particularly the above mentioned five. Medical marijuana provides us with a safe, natural alternative to dangerous, habit-forming drugs. Many medicines traditionally prescribed by doctors actually damage the body and mind with long term use. Additionally, most people suffering from one health condition or another take more than one medication, and all too often these medications interfere with each other, exacerbating health problems, especially when the patient’s physicians are not in good contact with one another. Of course, when considering any sort of medication, be it marijuana or otherwise, you should be sure to consult with your physician first.

Marijuana deserves a second look for its medical applications. When used in conjunction with a good psychology program, medical marijuana is a natural, more affordable, and safer way to treat many mental health conditions.

Akathisia, or acathisia (from Greek καθίζειν kathízein - "to sit", a- indicating negation or absence, lit. "inability to sit") is a movement disorder characterized by a feeling of inner restlessness and a compelling need to be in constant motion, as well as by actions such as rocking while standing or sitting, lifting the feet as if marching on the spot, and crossing and uncrossing the legs while sitting. People with akathisia are unable to sit or keep still, complain of restlessness, fidget, rock from foot to foot, and pace.[1]

Akathisia.....it really does have a name! I suffer from this and it's because of all the crap I've put into my body in the name of "getting better". Fuck that....I think I like being "sick". When I first started looking at opioid addiction, I came across something called opioid induced Hyperalgesia....basically the more you take the more you need because it's the opiates causing more pain. Not my problem but worth looking into. I was put on Valium when I was 10 years old. I had to take it again for back spasms with my back surgeries. I swear to god I still have issues from that and that was 40 yrs. ago.

I getting ready to flush that Clonidine....I don't want t deal with this sleepiness and dragging my ass for the rest of the day. I usually feel a little energy when I come home from swimming and now all I want to do is lay down and go to sleep.

From what I've come to understand via the research I've done, cannabis can control seizures where Dilantin may not be effective. I can recall being prescribed Dilantin as a child.......funny thing is I don't recall ever having a seizure during childhood....ever. Just fulfilling my guinea pig role for some 'mad scientist' figuring, "hey, why don't we try this" I'd imagine.....The only time I recall a seizure was coming off an extended 'bender' when I drank.
