In reality there isn't a way to do a fair comparison...

The at200 is approx. 170watt draw, the at600 is close to 700watts I've been told. Yes the amare had the slight edge in yield it seemed but it also pulls 50 more watts from the wall so heh...
2, Pro-3' HO's would be 700watts. H-bracket them together to make one light.
I think that would be the way to do it. Now, Spending $2000 on the AT600 is another story. Wonder if they offer a 90 day trial. If it's as good as everyone says it is, of course I'd keep it. But, if it gets smoked, then naw.
I'd do it.
I feel the real side by sides are against HPS. SO, my next led grow will be 2 Pro-4's vs. 1000watt HPS in 4'x4's. Already have at least 3 strains w/ 2 of the same vegging right now for this comparison grow. Trying to configure a way to use my other Amare's w/o the monos to see how straight COBs do to.
Enhanced white vs COB white vs HPS all in one comparison. I'm sure gonna try my damnedest to make this happen. Dying to know the truth about all 3.
You could do a side by side w/ your lights but would have to keep the monos off. Then you'd have Apache vs. COBs. That would be great with your chunky lil plants. Just have to raise the Amare up some.

Hi, you can answer this yourself. Using this spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nKfc12OCuDu7puJCa_6maefyCVm3gS5sBmzAXOlh06w/htmlview

First calculate PPF and/or look at the lumens column: 2.62 umol/J * 48.85W is about 128 PPF per cob, or 8916 lumens. I leave PPFD goals or lumens/sq ft choices in your capable hands. PPFD is just PPF/growing space in sq meters.

Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about lumens. They are all but meaningless.

Good luck.
Thanks heaps for this Jorgegonzales, very helpful.

Might not be the most efficient on paper or best at growing coral but it sure as shit can grow good weed. Can't wait to figure how many gpw this light got me. Best part is they are those shitty autoflowers that don't yield much lol. 10 plants left to chop

Damn son, dont see buds like that often in the led section Those things are freakin legs!
What's a Dinafem. The seeds comp. or the strain? Cuz that shit looks a like a dinosaur or some prehistoric monster bud!

Your opening sentence re Pro3s... I thought they were 250 watts each

I just visited the Apache site. I was surprised by how little information they provide about their lights. The 600 ($2500) appears to be a physically big light. I prefer the flexibility of Amares Pro series to spread light as/were needed

No one light is the be all end all. Amare is a credible light and seems to do very well but so do many others.

Seems there's a thread hear on showing LED buds. Might look there. In fact, we will see some soon when people start waking up, I think.

It just seems Amare has the loudest and more obnoxious fans. I'll duck now.

If you are new to led and need help post here. You could indeed follow spec sheets and this mess of hatred or you could look at some real results. Everyone swinging and punching doesn't make for a good help thread. But seeing plenty of decent buds that came from a specific manufacturer might. I'd post some under the Lec but they aren't as big and this isn't an Lec thread.

I think it's very clear who the obnoxious ones are. These lights may not be the best or cheapest but they sure as shit rank in the top 10% while people keep posting kind, Mars and all this other shit the few intelligent people would rather bicker.

This is under a Lec and 2 3590's same strain same everything. Just not really worth the effort of bragging about or I would. Lec is a decent light and the 3590's are pretty bright but it didn't do anything spectacular for me.

Is that temp scale on the wall accurate bro???
It's a few degrees off. But I have been running things a little warmer since co2 levels are usually above 1500ppm. Your question made me look a little harder and my bottle is co2 bottle is empty. Thanks

12k btu Ac vs a 70pint dehumidifier has been the struggle. Neither shut off and temps did hit 95 yesterday. Inside my room was over 100 degrees at one point. Don't know if it's the way they were eased into the temps from a Young age, the co2 or the silica additive but they are taking it.

At how many watts of led did you decide you needed a 12k btu unit?

Is there a formula? When I threw in my minisplit at home I had extra window units. This was the biggest I had so I used it. I'm overdoing it though. 3 Amare, 2 Lec, DIY 4 3590's and 3 Cree LED bars. The pro4's are coming this week so I'll be needing more cooling.

Chopped another Dinafem tonight. Not as big as the last one but still a decent yield. Another 1 of 4 under the Amare se-450View attachment 3734073 View attachment 3734076
I may just have to give my amare's another go.

I'm thinking a nice photo period in a 2 x 4 Scrog in a 14gallon tote of organic soil.

It will be quite a departure for me, but it might be fun to grow for yield for once heh.

I'll keep you guys posted as I set up for this.

3-4000 Btu's to every 1000 watt HPS is the formula I used when buying my mini-split. Which BTW is installed. 36,000 BTU. Psyched! Finally, no struggling w/ temps, plus I'll have recirculated Co2. This things a beast.
Wow, BigSmo! Great job man. I knew you'd love your Amares. You said your 4's are coming next week? I better get ahold of Victor tonight then. He said he put 6 aside for me. Can't wait !
Gonna PM you later to talk about how i can get some Dinasorous autos like you, ha!
