Hey everyone looking at doing my first build to get a little experience in the led / diy area, aside from heatsink, case, fans how does this matchup look to you all? This will primarily be a veg light until I can afford to tripple this and build another 2. I would like to run it at 240 and I would like to be able to daisy chain a few pieces together but for starters I want to make sure this is the right deiver/cob combo. Thanks for any and all advice.

why don't you run it? Hell throw your de in the mix too! Honestly nobody wants to go backwards on paper cobs are the best thing i know your holding on to this magic spectrum dream but i think most people agree the spectrum is white 3000k~4000k. Nobody cares about what we can compare between each other more importantly i think people who've invested time and money learning about cobs have no interest in going back to any kind of HID

Yeah these fit well. 240V is mandatory for the driver, not an option. It also not dimmable. I'd recommend you to change it to ELG-150-C1400 which is more efficient, dimmable and slightly cheaper (also needs 180~305 VAC input).

It will be ran I've got a bunch of seeds started so the 3 cob setup should be good until I get the rest of the money to build a few more modules so it will be veg then when they are ready to flip I should have the others and I'll be running that DIY vs my gavita so I may step it up to a 12 cob total light before I'm ready to flip

will you betrying to compare watt for watt?

Yes I'll be comparing watt for watt, but it's not going to be a super tight comparison because I have 2 gavita lights vs what will be about 600w of diy cob. Unless I come up with some extra cash and can do 2 of each so I'll have about 1/2 the power on DIY side compared to gavita.... I'll have to see

how are you going to keep it even that seems like a one sided fist fight with gravita having the 3 on 1 edge

Well I said it's not going to be a great comparison but it's not a quantity comparison at all against each other in any respect other than grams per watt consumed if the led produces 75% of what the Gavita does overall but uses 12 the power then I'd say led smokes the Gavita but it's already an unfair fight since ive never used an led before so it's all new to me but once it gets uo and running you will be able to see the results... no matter how lopsided they are... not trying to replace the Gavita off of the first diy led I build. But I am interested to see how it compares in my situation which isn't ideal for gavita lights at all as I have 6 1/2 foot ceilings so maybe the led has an advantage off the bat. Time will tell

http://www.tridonic.com/com/en/products/talexxconverter-lcai-55-w-eco-sr.asp#tab2
Should be good for a single CXB3590 up to 1500mA.

Could i run 1 x cxb3590 on a

Bonjour
Vero18 + hlg-120-1050b...(cheaper than 4 cxb which would be too much for your room)
Look at some vero18 thread...it will inspire you!
What is your budget?
Is it for vegg, flo or both?
Have a great day ★

I think he meant if anybody would agree to build a light for him and I would like to ask the same question. Would anybody want to build me a LED light, about 200 watts ? I don't need a warranty I just need it to be shipped safely. I think you guys would offer lower prices than those famous manufacturers. I live in Europe by the way if anyone is interested.

High guys, I have a 2 x 2 ft grow area with a chinese led in it. I've been reading on how to diy a cob led and I have pretty much decided with vero. I already ordered 2 arctic alpine 11 plus heatsinks/fans. I know about heatsinkusa but decided to go with the processor coolers. The dilemma that I have is do I go with vero18 or vero29? Do I use just two cobs or four together with the chinese led? Would four vero29s be overkill and will it be too much heat to deal with it. Currently the room temp is ~72-74F, the tent runs at ~79-83F with the cheap led in it. What do you guys think?
