This thread is so huge to go through, so I thought I'd just post here and watch the thread for replies. I want to set up two LED flowering panels that will grow six plants each just like a typical 1000watt HPS would. I've seen GG's Apache AT600 side by side verses 1000w HPS, very impressive, so is the price tag.

I've been using DormGrow in a 2x2, 2x3 closets and for the foot print and money spent on lights I am content. Just not sure if a DormGrow 900 will allow me to expand to a larger footprint.

Hoping there is something that can get the job done like the Apache AT600 but without the hole in my wallet.

If your budget is $500 you can't do much better than A 51

Someone on RIU is selling 2 now, so maybe you can make a deal to better cover 3 x 3

He may be a few pages back in this thread

I have a 40"wide by 36" deep by 7" high space.
Currently, I have a 400W HPS beside an area 51 XGS190. It's all working fine except in the hot season it gets too hot in the room. Tops out around 100 but can get even hotter in some areas and stress the plants.

Thinking of getting a second Area 51 light, but which one do you all think will be best to complement the one I have and cover the space sufficiently? It scares me a little to go only LED, so I want to make sure there's enough coverage.

Do not fear the LED. Check this side by side comparison. https://www.rollitup.org/index.php?threads/813412/

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Rollitup mobile app

I am looking at a Flip reflector LED from Universal Hydro/CabinetGrow and it is 5w x 144. Anyone ever use these? Results? Recommended light height?

Hearing that adding the bloom light helps in veg. Is this correct? Can you run it in bloom and veg without creating a problem with the light?

I searched but could not find anything about them.

Thanks in advance.

LGA, smaller lights around the A51 may be a good way to go if your trying to keep heat down though some Hans panels + 190 could really kick it IMHO. COBs running under spec'd will put out less heat than most if not all panels. Illumitex bars are an option, very low heat and tight beam angles. Pricey though. Or add a A51 RW75. Or two :). Unless you're really upping your game replacing a 400 is pretty easy and not such a huge investment nowadays. Grow style will also help dictate what you really need. Hydro? Potsize? How many plants?

It's your money and if you want to buy one and start a thread that would be great but that's not a panel that seems to be very popular around here so you'll probably have some problems finding out info on it. At least here.

A link to the panel would be great but it doesn't sound like anything amazing IMHO. Where did you see it/hear about it? Who's selling it? And marijuana loves light so if you want big plants then you want the Veg and Flower lights on. The Veg switch is more for mother plants and a few other things, though it depends on the panels configuration. And I would hope you can have both circuits on at once otherwise don't buy it.

Good Luck Everyone. Hope It Helps and Be Safe!

I decided to order an A51 RW150. I think the coverage should be good next to the XGS190 and still be a significant reduction in heat by taking out the ballast (had to have it in the same closet) and the 400W HPS.

Fran,
My grow style has shifted and I'm still trying to figure out which is the better path to great results. The heat issues and not having a good level canopy has definitely held me back on quality IMO. I'm using air pots and I like the organic soil mix plus AACTs that I've been using. No nute burn but plants seem healthy and well fed. I just did a run of several autoflowers of different strains, which ended up doing very different things, so that was kind of a mess. Right now, I have three chocolopes that I'm about to switch to 12/12. One was shorter than the other two (must be an indica pheno), so I cut the taller ones down and tied down the branches to spread them out. Letting those veg for a few more days while the last of the autos finish, then I'll have the three Chocolopes going under the two A51 LEDs. We'll see what happens and then I'll figure out what to do next, haha.

Screw expensive American made LEDs. I'm going cheap and ordering LEDZeal S600. I get 2 for the price of one.
