I need some QWET help!

:? We are interested in trying the QWET, but every time I Google it, I am getting the same article distributed by Greywolf. And good article that it is, before I do something, I want a little more input. Standing over an oil bath with Evercleer is a little daunting:neutral:

This process sounds scary and I need to see if somebody else has accomplished it and how it worked.

And I guess, while we are at it, I haven't really found a QWET dosage. Anybody? Anybody? Buehler?

Have an awesome Turkey Day everyone!!!

The dosage would be the same as any other solvent extraction (done properly). If you are going to weigh it, start with 0.025 gram.

I've been making qwet lately, and IMO it's far superior to qwiso. The oil bath is unnecessary. You can just let it sit out for 24 hours like iso, or you can do a water bath too. I do a water bath in the oven @ 215 once most/all the ethanol has evaporated off. That evaporates any of the remainder water/alcohol off and also decarbs a bit. I cook it for like 45 minutes or so, then thak out and scrape while hot/warm. I find qwet produces a shatter/glass like product which is difficult to harvest after it's cooled even a bit. Also, I dunno about greywolf's suggestion of 3 minutes sitting in the freezer. It does pick up a lot of chlorophyll, but still tastes very good. I think a minute or less agitation with the ethanol is a better bet for a purer end product.

okay the best way to do an ethanol extraction is either a soxhlet extraction ran for 24 hrs or the more modern way would be to use it in conjunction w co2. It's very precise measurements required and 2% of the total co2 weight is needed. So if you have a 20lbs tank of co2, you would add 180 grams of everclear, add the weed about three or four oz, thread back on the valve, and take it for a liquid fill of co2. Sorry if they exchange your tank this won't work. It is the O.G honey oil recipe and by far superior to any solvent extraction due to co2 being a supercritical fluid. When it's time to recover the oil, you turn the tank upside down and catch the snow in a tall container due to ice plugs. A shallow container would blast out all the recovered solution and render it unrecoverable.
