I Just Don't Get It

last week i was house-sitting for some folks that subscribe to various pay channels and i got curious late one night, so i took a peek at the lady gaga concert playing on hbo. can someone please tell me what the attraction is in this worthless piece of shit. as i watched with a certain morbid fascination, i completely failed to understand how anyone could even take this cow seriously. her voice, while not altogether unpleasant, is of the sort you might find in any second rate karaoke bar. she lumbered about the stage like a mortally wounded moose, dressed in costumes that seemed to be made entirely of items stolen from her neighbors' recycling bins. each of what she passed off as "original" songs were nothing more than tunes stolen from a number of the last decade's forgettable pop songs, with her completely unpoetic and overtly self-promoting lyrics injected artlessly into the mix. while i'm sure that the few remaining keytar manufacturers appreciate the boost in sales her theatrics have provided, i simply don't understand how it all translates into grammys and multi-platinum album sales. maybe one of you can enlighten me.

No enlightenment can ever confince me that she is anything more than a cheap attention whore who struts and frets her place upon the stage...no class and even less talent.

Music has gone to shit anyway. I just saw U2 a couple nights ago and now respect them more. I saw Muse a few months back and as where I was impressed with their stage presence/show I thought the music sucked, of course we all know musical taste is a matter of opinion and back to the subject even a no talent having fuck can become a grammy winner. Times certainly are changing.
