Huge Changes from Advanced Nutrients???

Well I been meaning to post more on this but I didn't really have anything new. The stuff I was gonna scan well I never got my scanner working and it wasn't right anyway. When I talked to Big Mike he said it was an early draft and that they were still putting the finishing touches on the nutrients so it wasn't right anymore anyway.

Well I got my hands on what is supposed to be the final draft, but we'll see about that. Anyway, I got the pdfs uploaded so you guys can see them.

Oh and I found out more about that whole pH thing works. I guess they have this stuff that like encapsulates the molecules of pH up or pH down so that it doesn't change the pH of what it's in. So they can dump a bunch of both kinds in with the nutrients and it doesn't go crazy. This coating stuff reacts to certain pH levels and like pops the bubble at the right level. So if the pH gets too high or too low the right pH adjuster is automatically released to counter it.

Cool, eh? Also there's some kind of super chelates or something that they developed that makes the macro and micro nutrients available way outside the usual pH ranges. What I heard is that as long as the pH isn't so high or so low that it actually melts the roots this stuff can still be absorbed and used by the plants. That sounds a little far-fetched to me but who knows.

The guy at my hydro shop says he's going to put out some stuff himself here in a week or so. I'm not sure what all he has but I'm looking forward to that.

Hoo boy have I got a scoop!

I asked Erik Biksa about this stuff, he and I go back a ways (he's the guy that got me into hydroponics in the first place). Anyway he isn't really working on this at all but he did hear a little bit about it.

Of course he says it's every bit as good as they say, but he was also like seriously, no joke, it kicks ass. So take that for what it's worth, he's never steered me wrong and I'm inclined to believe him but you can make up your own mind.

Best part - he sent me a link to a video that Advanced Nutrients had done. The last few seconds of it are cut off but he said it was cool if I showed it around even though it's not done.

It explains the automatic pH thing really well. I think I actually understand how it's supposed to work, finally.

Awesome find hooked!

That really makes a lot of sense now. I couldn't wrap my head around it before but seeing it helps a lot.

iamgrowerman have you heard anything about how they're going to price it? I'm most likely going to give it a try but I'd like an idea of how much it will cost.

I wrote it down but I don't remember where. If I find it I'll copy what I was told but I remember for sure that it was $149 for the Hobbyist bundle. The others are gunna be $199 each but one of them is $149 like the first one but I'm not sure which it was. I'm thinking it's the last one, grandmaster. I could be wrong tho

Big Mike said that if you bought everything in the first bundle, but with the current formulas it would run like $211.73 or something like that. And that doesn't count the amino acids and all the new stuff that's been added in the new formulas so they really dropped the price alot.

I'm definitely gonna try it too. They still have that money back guarantee so I can always do that if it isn't as good as they say.

Jesus. Snake oil salesmen live! A 1 post poster rushing to rollitup to breathlessly tout a product. Never seen that before. But thanks for caring about us buddy!

I know man, you've lurked for years. Save it.

So how are things in Salem, anyway?

Jesus. I got excited about something new! My home forum (Cannabis.com) is completely hosed so I can't post there about anything. I suppose I should've waited until I had a couple thousand posts to make my first post, eh?

I know man, you've lurked for years. Save it.
I know man, denying is just confirmation. It doesn't matter whether someone's guilty or not, if they admit it they're guilty and if they deny it they're guilty. Save it.

Whatever man, I don't really give a shit if you think I'm a "real" person or not. Of course I suppose that's just what a shill would say too, right? Damned if I do, damned if I don't.

Listen, I know the nute business is a tough game and "Big Mike" always needs to keep trying to find new ways to cut through the clutter and get the word out, but pretending to be something you aren't isn't the way. It irritates people because it seems dishonest.

Pass that on to Big Mike during your next "phone call".[FONT=&quot]

Now you're just getting boring. Get some new material.

I get it. No really, I do. I get it, I'm a corporate shill, just like everyone else that likes Advanced Nutrients. In fact all us Advanced Nutrients shills can't figure out why everyone bitches about the price since it's obvious to everyone else that the only people buying it were paid by AN to do so.

If it makes you feel better to think I'm being paid to talk on a forum (like anyone really has that job) then fine, go ahead and think that. It's not like I could stop you anyway.

All I can say is that I'm guessing you haven't actually used Advanced Nutrients. If you had you'd understand.

There is a big difference between someone who likes AN and someone who goes around to multiple message boards with long posts touting a product complete with prices, and talking about money back guarantees and addressing people's concerns about AN's marketing expenses, posting up Product PDFs, etc, etc, etc.

You are right, I haven't used AN myself, but I also had nothing against them, in fact I've even gotten Big Mike's newsletter for about a year now, but this episode has put a very sour taste in my mouth for Advanced Nutrients. I guess my grows won't reach the "Next level", lol.

As a side note, if this product isn't for sale yet, how do they have customer testimonials already in the brochure you posted? And if those people aren't customers and are really just getting free products wouldn't that be something important to mention? Ask Big Mike about that.

Ask him yourself, it ain't my job. The only thing I've got is the balls to write an email.

I'm relatively confident that the answer I can figure out for that all by my lonesome is correct, but since I'm apparently wearing the frakkin AN logo on my forehead I gotta be careful what I say now. If you want a better answer than the one I think is right you can get it yourself.

I don't get paid to bother people with your curiosity.

Hmmm, sounds like they're copying Vitalink to me with the pH fixer and mixing ratios, not really ground-breaking at all.

This post is turning south on AN. What I don't understand is that this is a forum for people who enjoy growing. Why wouldn't "Big Mike" just come on here and have his word. Captive audience, just come out and say "Check out OUR new product!".

Something crucial about marketing is to never make moves that lower the value of your brand. That just completely did it for me. Like having paypal as your credit card processor...boo.

Bad for the Brand guys...bad bad bad. These are the kind of marketing ploys that you would expect from a cheap pakistani knock off company, not the market leader or the strongest of the bunch...I used to use AN products too, now I fear it's really just 4 guys in a garage.

Advanced..............I guess that 100 dollar plus price tag puts this product outta my league. I'll stick to my cheap ass GH...it grows/does well enough 4 me at 12 bucks a pop!

sell 1 apple for a million, or sell a million for a buck....who cares as long as you get your mil, right?

Yeah! Why doesn't Big Mike come here himself and tell all us pot growers that Advanced Nutrients is the greatest stuff for growing pot! It's not like pot is illegal, or as if AN got targeted hard-core a few years back by the damn war on drugs gestapo from the US.

Seriously, use your heads. Yes, everyone knows that AN was designed by pot growers for pot growers. We know this. But in case you hadn't noticed they don't advertise that anymore. They have to keep a certain amount of mainstream above-board appearance or they'll get slammed by the DEA, the RCMP or whoever the hell does the anti-pot nazi crap up north.

You can't even tell the tech support guys you're growing MJ or they have to hang up on you. What makes you think their top guys could come here and give advice without opening themselves to a world of trouble? They shut down their medical boards awhile back.

A bunch of people are treating this guy, iamgrowerman, like an outsider but a bunch of people aren't looking like they've been around in this community long enough to know the score so I'm starting to wonder which side is being paid to say what they say...

I don't even have to ask anyone anything to answer most of those stupid questions. Like the "where do the testimonials come from" one. That's painfully easy.

Every company tests their products before they sell them. Let's say for example that I was one of the guys testing this stuff for AN. I wouldn't admit it if I was because I'd not want to blab and get my name crossed off the "send cool new stuff to this guy to see how it works for him" list. But let's say I was on that list and I'd been using it.

If that were the case I'd be expected to give them feedback on what I thought worked well, what I thought needed work, and so on. They'd ask me all kinds of questions not the least of which would be whether I'd recommend the product. I could even have written the review that appears on the brochure.

I could also post here and say this new product line is nothing short of amazing and that I couldn't speak highly enough of it.

If I were one of the people that had been testing it for AN, that is.

And of course I can't say that because they've been tweaking and improving it constantly and I wouldn't have actually had access to the final formula. If I were testing it, of course.

What I will say is that I've already made arrangements at the hydroponics shop and when this actually goes on sale there's going to be a giant box full of it in the back with my name on it that never sees the shelf.

And I'll just say it before all the religious anti-AN nuts say it. I'm a corporate shill.

Yep, that's right. I'm their biggest fan. But they don't pay me a cent to say what I say because they don't have to. I wish they would, but they don't.

I don't think you are being fair. We are not "religious anti-AN nuts". We just call bullshit when we smell BS. Your post just seems like a normal guy speaking up. Now if you are going to go around to five other marijuana sites and create brand new accounts and post the exact same message, I might think different. Can you see the difference?

Based on what you said, to be fair then, shouldn't they say in fine print somewhere that testimonials are from people who haven't tested the final product, nor did they actually pay for the product?
