HPS or MH? VEG

11 Days into grow.
Im vegging with 400watt hps.
Would the MH be better?

400W MH would be better for veg (MH is blue spectrum), 400W hps for flowering.(HPS is red spectrum)

Ok dude I know the basic info you just figured out..

Some people prefer hps for the entire grow... I would like to hear they're perspective on it..

For veg I'd use a 400w HPS over a 250w MH (or less wattage in general) but with equal wattage the nod goes to MH in veg.

I use MH for veg and have also gone right thru with HPS, I swear by MH for veg after trying both as it makes the plant very short, thick and bushy and generally makes a better plant in my opinion. Using HPS right thru will make the plant a bit more stretchy and taller but still makes a good plant though the buds are not as tight. If you use MH 2 weeks into flower it also keeps the plant from stretching as much but can delay flowering a little. Hope this helps

MH produces more light in the blue spectrum and is typically better suited for vegatative growth. However, There is nothing wrong with using an HPS lamp for the entire grow cycle, especially if you have an HPS bulb with an enhanced blue spectrum. The only thing you may notice using an HPS for the veg phase, versus a metal halide, is the possibility of stretching. I use enhanced HPS lights for my entire grow and I've never had any issues. Also, HPS is more efficient than MH, producing more lumens per watt.

Well then be more specific, thats what u asked so I answered it.
Next time maybe you should specify what you want to know instead of just plainly asking what one would be better for veg state. But thanks for being a douche with your comment to my answer. Ever heard the term stupid questions get a stupid answer?
If you're saying that you already know this basic info that I supposedly just figured out, then maybe you should already know which one is better to use during a veg state, douche bag.

I'll offer my 0.02 I have used only HPS for both vegging and flowering and had decent results. I now use MH vor veg and HPS for flowering with great results. The MH does make a difference. The plant grows lusher and is more compact.

I just had to check and make sure in SOME growers eye MORE lumens = MORE BUD.

I asked a broad question that has been covered so many times, I dont need an answer I can look up in the FAQ. People have been argueing the fact that HPS produces HARDER fucking nugs...More lumens..I dont know why you decided to post on my thread anyway?

oh and by the way moron, when they said HPS produce harder nugs, they meant during flowering. Go kill urself.

MH all the way will produce stalkier plants and a higher yield but it'll take longer. HPS all the way through will speed up the process and give you taller, skinnier plants that have less yield. Best is, of course, MH for veg and HPS for flowering but the BEST is to use both simultaneously throughout the grow.

Ofcourse you wouldn't go switch out a hps for cfls if you already have a freaken HPS. But that wasnt the question.

HPS has pros that MH does not when it comes to VEG..and VICE VERSA

Would you rather have more lumens with 1/2 right spec or right spec. but Weak lumens? Dont think so buddy!

HID penetrates..Cfls bounce.
