How much electricity Can i use without drawing suspicion

Yea, another way to put it is 24 1,000 watt lights = 24 kwatts/hr. You run 24KWH an hour X .17 = $4.08/hr to run your lights. That like running 8 heat pumps.
Also consider you would need to get another service installed because you will exceed the supplied 200 amp service point. You try this setup and you are toast. Why so big? Segregate your grow. If you were to generate your own power you would need a pro to install/wire which means yet another person knows about your grow. Why are you battin with the big boys when you haven't even been in the pee-wee league yet? UR way over your head :o

re-read IAMS5toned warning:

if your running more than 7000w continuous, you really need to have a seperate electrical service and meterbase.
the reason being is that power companies pay for there power just like we do, and a sudden jump in cionsumption at a location that has used a lower amount over a period of time (like if you suddenly added a cpl 1000 watts) raises a red flag to the power company, because it looks like (to the power company) that there has been an equipment failure. power companies have been in business for almost a century now, and they have there residential consumption algorithims down to a fine science. they have a really good idea how much power per sq foot a building uses... so when they see a sudden jump, they think somethings wrong. id bet a paycheck the first time the power comapny came out, they were looking for signs of 'tracking' tracking is a visual evidence of electrical bleed off... they wanted to make sure you were actually using the power so they can bill you for it. they found no tracking, so in order to be safe, they switched out the meterbase. this is common protocol, its cheaper to change a meterbase than be sued for faulty equipment burning down your house. when you switched back to your old lighting, the jump in consumption went away, so they stopped looking for it.

the power company has much better things to do than to chase down growers. mainly there worried about a)covering there own ass, b) maintaining there grid, and finally c) that no one is running illegal taps.
one of the slickest things you can do is register a business at your address. businesses use machines that use alot more power than any household equipment.... register a business, they might not look so hard next time.... just a hint

starting a first grow with over 400 clones and 10 lights sounds fishy to me first off but ok lets go with it. What size house would be good question to ask as generally I was under the impression that you want to stay under or not much over 1000kwh per room in the house per month. Just starting off your not going to be turning that many lights on in the first place unless your clones are already in large pots. If you think you must use that many lights then go with the 600w instead of 1000 and rotate timers as well if its going to be ridiculously over the 1000kw per room per month. I have a 1000w turn on at 6 am and turns off at 12pm as the 600w turns on at 10am and off at 6pm so I am giving them 2 lights at mid day and smaller light at the end of the day instead of both on solid for 12 hours.
With that much at stake I would not trust the pay your bill on time. maybe start the flow with putting 100 clones in every 2 or 3 weeks instead of that many at once and ease into the bigger flow. Or just go for it and expect to get the fuck out after first harvest!!

Good luck and dont steal it pay for it,

12,000 watts is a big draw for the average residential account. And 21K-24K watts is unheard of unless you live in the Clampett Mansion.

HondaVixen is right, the company will almost certainly come and inspect your meter and possibly replace it. But more importantly, they will want to know why such a huge draw is not on a commercial account in your area. Unless you live in Houston where zoning laws don't apply, the power company may alert the city that some sort of light industry is going on in an area zoned residential. Depending on city ordinance, the company may not have a choice.

Something about this does not sound right, however.

I can't explain why exactly, but I can't shake this fishy feeling about someone with six posts asking about such a large grow operation.

We're mainly a bunch of hobby growers and medical patients here.

I grow tomatoes. :-P
It still boggles my mind that people always seem to indulge these trolls with 0-10 posts who come on asking about warehouse grows and don't seem to know dick about growing.

"I have 500 clones, do you think I can yield 125 pounds in two months?"

Just to throw this out: What if some dumb ass got on the internet and asked specific questions on how to commit an obvious felony. This dumb ass actually tries to pull this shit off and gets busted. Could the people giving this advice be charged/convicted as an accessory?

Stealing electricity is a great way to get caught. The electric company does not like it when you fuck with their bottom line, and they will bring the police down on you.

As far as the OP, that's a lot of power consumption. Way more than should be coming out of any one house. A rough rate for electricity where I live after all charges is about 10 cents per kwh. You'll be drawing 432 kwh per day at 18/6 and 288 per day on 12/12, and that's just lights. With that much lighting you're going to need some serious cooling. You're looking at 1500 a month in electricity easy. If you don't pay pronto, they're going to get really pissed, and they're going to start investigating what was using 1500 dollars of electricity.

You should really think about renting out some shitty apartments and putting a couple thousand watts in each, or downsizing your grow. A big grow like that is going to draw a lot of attention that you don't want.
LOL did u gus hear about that female grower..i think she lived in the U.K any my point is she was stealing power from the street lights and her whole neighbourhood had dimmed streetlights because of it lol , so the cops investigated an she got caught, what a retard...
