i usedd 2x 60 W HPS lightd for my entire grow. all good

I want to see these studies. Studies have proven that saying studies have proven it makes it more believable.

Homegrownboy, thanks for the reference. It makes sense about the spectrum thing. Ive been debating whether or not to guy buy a bulb for veg, use my T5, or stick with an HPS. But it makes sense that plants expect certain types of light at their different stages. I think ill invest the 100 bucks and pick up a 600w MH.

T5's are great for veg, assuming you don't have a large grow, invest the money in some good nutes, and soil if you don't have already, organic is best. Since you have the HPS just switch to that when you flower.

Not that I can check old copies of High Times, I still don't believe hps bulbs cause a higher percentage of males and hermies.

I think you might be getting the wrong idea...once the plant reaches it's flowering stage HPS is the way to go...it's beofre flowering that it matters on the spectrum.
