When I harvest, I take off all leaves that I can remove whole..leaving only the intertwined sugar leaves. When the outside becomes "crispy", I trim the remaining sugar leaves.
I find this method to give the best finished flavor for my strain. The plant dosen't know it's dead right away, and intact leaves will continue to try and "feed" the plant..reducing chlorophyll and nitrogen...if you trim the fan leaves wet, the remaining life energy of the plant goes to sealing the cut leaf tips...that's my un proven theory however...
the main thing is let them dry slowly..no matter how you trim..then give them some time to cure..if you want the best flavor...
