How did everyone become interested in psychedelics?

Pretty much the same, I've always loved psychedelic influenced art and music. Both my parents were heavy drug users in their day and are heavily into music and art so I've kind of been indirectly exposed to it all my life. Unfortunately neither of them like psychedelics, both have had bad experiences in their past due to lack of knowledge and with the crazy doses of acid in the 60's and 70's unfortunately not being prepared for what you're about to experience can go awfully wrong very quickly. Pretty sure the bad acid experiences actually turned them off drugs, they were both heavy heroin and coke users, now my dads earning over 100k a year working for the government, wears a suit everyday has a sweet work car has a damn nice bmw as well. My mothers not doing too much worse either. The changes psychedelics can bring haha

I had never really gone out of my way to do any psychedelics though, the first time I came in contact with psychedelics some of my friends gave me ketamine they saved for me after a party they had the night before that I missed. Snorted 3 lines of ketamine, 1 line of mdma and a small bump of coke without even knowing what ketamine did (always do research don't be stupid). Was just buried into a couch for hours in a euphoric wonderland.

After that I was really interested in different kinds of psychedelics and what they could do for you. Next encounter a friend of mine that I hadn't spoken to in over a year randomly messaged me saying he was going to this town a few hours away in a couple of days for a small little party and that he had some dmt and 25i-nbome he'd give me if I wanted to come with him. After already having done some research after the ketamine experience I knew full well what both of those drugs were so I was definitely not going to turn it down. Safe to say that weekend changed my view on life forever, we just ended up walking around the Australian bush all night and morning smoking dmt and tripping balls. Ran into all kinds of wildlife, some amazing eagles gliding less than 15 meters above us that hung around for ages, curious kangaroos that would come right up to us. At one point we were even crying and hugging trees we became that enveloped in the nature around us.

Since then I've done a lot of experimenting, definitely slowing down these days though as myself and my life start coming together nicely. I'll always hold psychedelics in high regard though, they definitely helped change myself for the better and start making a positive improvement on my life and even those around me.

same,same,
first intro was at work (apprentice wood machinist), guy i got some hash off gave me half a microdot (L.s.d in the 70's was good), "hold out your hand " he said, so i did, looked at it saying wot's that then necked it as he told me, not good when your working cutting machinery although a very interesting experience, so they sent me home, It was summer time too aaah happy times misspent.
Now its weed mainly with the occasional fly agaric (on toast with honey), Salvia (x60)...Natural stuff
:peace:

This reality is simply too bland..
What it boils down too for me.

A psychedelic wonderland through a universe of my creation cant be beat, a place where time does not exist and people are meaningless.

Extreme doses of Dissociatives mixed with lsd like compounds..yes!

My best friend from high school (I was like 17 maybe? So half a lifetime ago) asked me what smoking weed was like. I asked if he wanted to join me, but he said he found something called LSD which he was going to try first. About two weeks after (we talked everyday but necessarily about drugs) told me to tell my mom I was gonna stay over at his house. Obvious code for we're doing something.

He shows up at my house with a couple sugar cubes. We went for a short drive to a nature trail where he told me to eat it. After I didz he told me it was this "LSD" that he'd been talking about. We went for a walk and had a decent trip, weak by my standards today but strong enough I wanted to try again.
The next time we had paper tabs, and he gave me two. Absolute crazy awesomeness ensued. As I got older and learned more, I dosed more and more and well...

Similar to Mike's. 17. Experimenting with friends. My pals go. "Hey. You wanna do acid?" I said. "Why not? Were doin' every other thing they told us not to."
Here I am on HS years later. Same friends are teachers a doctor. In IT. And working in music. Life goes on after acid.

i got into psychedelics through this forum actually, I've always smoked weed since i was 12 and fucked around with anything i could get my hands on basically, with no psychedelics, but i was always curious because my middle man as a kid been after telling a few hilarious stories that involved laughing hysterically on shrooms until he was doubling over in pain or literately pissing himself laughing, i thought it was like extremely intense weed with visuals lol i was so wrong, and when i heard people like rory420, whodat@thador and poi poi and a few others talking about how awesome it was, especially how u can't stop grinning on the come up and it lasting so long i was on a mission to get some lol.

got to say the HS crowd completely changed since last year when i startin tripping balls, weird none of those ppl i remember isn't around anymore.

Psychedelics are merely a door.
Once one chooses to cross that threshold,
they may not forget the room they witnessed.

I enjoy psychedelics,
and psychedelics enjoy me.
It was that simple.

New member here so thought i would make a post. How did everyone become associated with the culture? For me, it was just always something that caught my attention
What else stimulated this fancy ?
Here are some key phrases to explain what influenced psychedelics into My life:
Arapahoe Warriors > Infected Mushroom > rollitup.org > chakra energies > the flower of life

the grateful dead, jerry garcia, timothy leary, ken kesey, terence mckenna, and owsley stanley also fueled My interest in consuming psychotropic substances in 2011.

then it was not until a few days ago and just now realized that all these "psychedelic pioneers" figures may in fact be CIA members who brainwash people with LSD.
Have You heard of MK Ultra ? Its not just a marijuana strain name, You know ....
