Home made hash.

Not sure if this is the correct place to put this , but I didn't see anywhere else i thought it would fit in.

Usually I make my hash , in a bucket with ice and i mix it , the usual method, i filter it out get all the crap out with silk screen etc. Then i collect it in a coffee filter.

Usually i end up with a lovely product at the end usually looks grey/white almost when it first comes out then it darkens, after a few days I usually get left with a darker very soft soft black , very easy to work with tho.

However this time round, everything was did the same , everything worked , tho the final result looked , honestly like someone just blew a creamy load they had saved up for weeks into the coffee filter . After i collected all of it, and did the usual , what iv'e been left with is a very dark and very sticky block of hash. The problem is this stuff is just to sticky and oil like, making it unusable , as when i try to roll it into little sausages , it just smudges into my hands. In fact the stuff is stuck to the non stick baking paper i keep it on , and to even get it off the paper to handle it , it has to be frozen for at least 10 mins, then the clocks against you.

My question is has anyone else had a similar problem , and have any dea what the cause could be, anyway to remedy this problem ?

Gross dude. Gross. Ummmm dry it more? Or maybe blend it with fresh trichs or other hash? It sounds like what one might get with a 25 micron screen and the right strain, just a bunch of broken heads, not oily and doesn't quite hold form.

I used the same usual crude method 4 times with my previous harvest, of which one time I had the same "problem". Can't roll it between fingers or within palm of other hand. I ended up pressing and cutting it with my harvest scissor. Cutting like a chef does with veggies. Obviously messed up the scissor badly. Also had a piece in a small ziplock, figured I press it... bad idea.

Eventually, I just let it dry (in dark). It did make me wonder if it's worth investing in a decent hash press, like one with high quality metal it doesnt stick to as much or at least can be scraped off again.

Thanks for reply guys , seams there's two thread , on the other one a guy said he had the same problem , and offered something that helped, many thanks to him.

https://www.rollitup.org/harvesting-curing/643147-home-made-hash.html is the other thread.

I can assure you tho i've made enough hash in my days to know this wasnt just a not dry problem , I did the method the same as every other time and never have i seen this , and the fact it has been sitting for like 2 weeks untouched because of the issue where normal stuff is ready within days , im almost 100% it wasnt just a drying problem.

If your gonna try pressing your hash , I would recommend using a few sheets of that non stick baking paper , stickytape dosnt even stick to this stuff , but the hash still does haha, but its by far the most effective/forgiving material ive found for working with hash's.

Was it made with a strain you had used before. Different strains have a different "texture". I would prolly try to mix it with some straight blond keif to make it thicker and less sticky. I've done this before when I had some hash that was half oil almost so it wouldn't form and it was super sticky. Added a bunch of fresh dry keif and it turned into a nice hash log!

Nah was the same strain that been working with for years.

Yeah thats what the guy on the other post said , luckily i had a grinder full of kief , after rolling it around in that , it became much more workable , still incredibly sticky , but at least i can work with it now.
