Flowering will be take 7.8.or 9 weeks it wont be 12 weeks depending on the strain. U need to get them in at least a 20 or 30 litre pots so they can take off. And the coco I get new coco every time and get 2x400 or 2x600 HPS the heat will not be to bad. Just 1 small computer fan would do the job. I have grown from seed all ways try and use a clone u seen how big my got 3.5 weeks in veg. The LED to me is a waste of time I will get a lot of guys that will hate me for saying that

Spot on

Allot of guys will hate you for that
Choice of Light in RIU
Is like choosing your gang
Hps = Latin kings ( majority )
Hid = bloods ( common )
Led = creeps ( disliked by all )

I am part of the new generation
So I have to embrace technology

I believe most people here have being growing for so long that they do not understand

Why change something if it works !

My main concern was heat and helicopters as there are a couple around here flying over and looking for growers ( London UK )

My wardrobe is a built in one and behind the left wall is my boiler room

It can take no more heat just added a fan in there 24/7 other wise it keeps hitting the 30+ celcius

I wanted clones I swear however I needed to plant a mother first so I planted 5 of each strain will keep 1 of each as a mother and harvest the other 8

When I went choosing for a strain I was looking for high thc content as I am turning 80% of my harvest on oil for medical purposes
So I went with amnesia haze wich is full 12 weeks flower believe it or not

The power plant is 10 so I should be harvesting that first ( hopefully )

I got 26l square dirt pots that arrived yesterday will move them all into it on the 4th ( power plant will be 1 month old and amnesia 5 weeks )

Just took some pictures
By the way everyone my problem was most definitely rootbound

And my tap water that I have being using this last week to water my plants has a ph of 8.6
I am cursed or what
So used the ph down made 20l of water with a ph at 6.5 ( I grow in soil )

Hey man, great looking plants, sorry for not chiming in earlier. I see you upgraded your setup as well, nice one. If I may suggest, you should put your temp gauge a little higher, somewhat around the top canopy level. It looks like you're on the border of optimum temp levels at the bottom but higher up you could be hitting 29 or more. Although I have no idea how heat workis with LED lighting, so I could be wrong, but my HPS puts off so much heat so I measure the temps at the highest shoot.

Hi Gregor

With the led heat is almost a myth
I get hardly any from the led
Until this week it was almost touching the leaves and no burn from it what so ever
My heat issue is the room behind the left wall ( is my boiler room ) that 's where the heat comes from and I can not avoid the 30celcius sometimes but that's the highest it goes, temps don't move from top leaves to floor on my set up so far probably will in the future when they get taller thank you for chiming in Greg your advices are always welcome and apreciated

For the temp I guess I will do like Bryan said get a better weather station from amazon

Hello everyone little update
On the set up
Got the tent up and ready did all the ventilation set up here is what it looks like now 20151202_174040.jpg20151202_174034.jpgIMG-20151202-WA0013.jpegIMG-20151202-WA0007.jpgIMG-20151202-WA0001.jpegand yes I know I need to move them to the 7 gal pots
But amazon is late with my 25l bat guano and my 50l soil and an extra 40l humus

I mixed what I had

40 l soil from amazon
50l coco
40l humus

Here 's a picture of the products and the mix

Also a picture of the dirt pots I hope it all arrives tmrw

What do you guys think ?

Damn, lovely tent you have there! I need to get myself one one day.

What are you exhausting into? Is there some kind of vent in the wall?
I like the tent makes it much cleaner and professional too already has all the ventilation wholes and is light proof
And the interior reflects light very well

No ventilation in the wall

Is a wardrobe where I first put my set up
I will get back in there when my girls finished veg I will put one of each strain in there with some t5's to keep them as mothers

Damn straight, the interior reflects probabley around 97% of light and that's all around. I'm sure that contributes to the amount of yields.

Good idea about the mother plants. Pick a strain that you love and then stay with it for a long time. :D

1 amnesia haze
1 power flower

Hopefully I will get some of the CBD strains from RQS as I am growing for medical purposes all the reviews seem really good apparently you get all the good stuff and more with a very light high wich is exactly what my patient need
I wish there were more people growing them so I would know more about it if anyone out there knows about CBD strains please feel free to pitch in

I don't smoke but I will smoke some of my stuff for sure can't say I grew it for 1/3 of a year and did not try it that would be silly and if I ever fall in love with it then
Yes I shall get more strains

But until then let's see how this grow ends up ! I am ducking it up real time by not changing the pots but the rest of my mix for my soil will only be here Friday and the bat guano Tuesday ( I am not crazy I will probably just leave enough space in the pots to add 1 liter of batguano in each pot for when it arrives hopefully that does the trick

Hid=hps/dehps/mh/blue
Led=full spectrum or single band
Cfl=bleh

A huge majority of people here at RIU has gone through trial and error compared to any other forum. HPS still makes the big dense nugs out of them all. There are some real botanist here and I've learned how to up the quality of my harvest big time by controlling my feed and never flushing.
DE HPS being the yield king. It seems your plant did appear to be rootbound, good catch

Hi Splfreak808

Choice of light is a Very sensitive subject here in RIU I have seen some funny and nasty discussions In here and 90% about light choices

All I can say about my led so far
Is that the day I pressed the bloom button wich was 2 days ago the plants started to react better as if before they were not receiving enough light
Not in flower however still on 18/6 but just on full power

Installed the tent today and I have 1 fan inside
1 extraction on top
And 1 intake ( no fan just ducting )
Led is on
The extraction acts as vaccum and pulls some air from the intake ducting ( no need for a fan there

My temperature is at exactly
29c
I know the ideal is 28 but hey

1 light 1 fan 1 extraction

Before I had to mess around with my wardrobe everyday anyway

I believe led's will be better than everything else give it 2 or 3 years
For the manufacturers to figure out what they are really doing but for the moment hps is still the Latin kings of grow rooms

But to avoid heat you end up coming close to the price of most leds out there by having to adjust your setup

This is my personal opinion

It was root bound indeed really sucks

Well yes, you could grow weed with a flash light if needed. It all comes down to "do you have what you need to meet your expectations". Nothing wrong with growing with diodes. I admit, eventually LED will take over and your hearing this from an electrical engineer lol. The time has yet to come, honestly CXB's are already impressive but i feel by the time you actually go through enough harvest to pay for the cxb's, there will probably be better led's by then, the cxb's will probably be a fraction of the price by then.

Also,when it comes to temps it really depends on how much thought and engineering you put into your ventilation system. I don't use a/c under my single ended 1kw bulbs. I also live in a HOT state. I pull in 70f and the room sits around 77-83f. I run dual active ventilation, the hoods are isolated from the room. In my double ended room i use A/C and a bottle and regulator, i only flower known clones in this room maybe twice a year and keep my bag seeds and projects under the single end bulbs.

I switch between a window ac unit in the warm morths to this in the cold months. 6 inch ducting fits perfectly to the intake (and the exhaust, really awesome fans), run that to a window. I bought a few of them about 7 or 8 years ago, still love them.

I agree the prices are heavy but like you said an electrical engineer agreed with me that they are the futur hope no one knows who I am talking about he might get trolled from now on

I am a newbie this is my first grow how would you advise me to get the temp down 1 or 2 more degrees then ?

And again wouldn't you agree with me that half of your equipment is probably mainly to deal with the heat ?
